We planned it in Sunday. It was 35 min ride on Scooter from goregoan to GTB nagar. Had seen many videos and read reviews before hand..so had high expectations. As we reached there. I saw 7-8 people waiting in line for parcel/take.away. We were 5 and so we planned to take a table inside. The outlet was dusty n dull. Tables were damaged, very cramped Seats. We tried to talk to the main guy I believed was the owner himself but he was too rude and strict. And not ready to even hear us. Anyways... we waited for anyone to come and take order. After 10mins he arrived. And we ordered 3 plate chole bature and 2 extra bhatura. But he admantly said 4 chole bhature milega..haha We said ok.... our food arrived after 15 mins.. Food was great.. chole were strong and spicy and tasty. Bhatura were the best thing. We ordered lassi And one glass chana soup. Also ordered gulab jamun. Food was good. Hygiene , cleanliness and the owners urge to streamline order and delivery were the downing part. For food I can say 5/5 For the way owner is managing it and his behaviour and customers interaction I give 1/5 Worst thing is even though we reached so.early and had ordere our food.on table..and we also wanted take.away.. He refused to take order for take away. He said.if u want parcel.stand inline... It...

Near the entrance one could see an elderly gentleman peacefully but swiftly rolled out huge puris and toss em in a huge kadai full of hot oil.. One after the other, in went hand flattened dough that would sizzle up ten times its size!just one swift turn and gigantic golden brown puris were deftly swung out into the sieve to drain out excess oil and join a plate of piping hot chhole... to be devoured in minutes! This was the scene daily 9am onwards, went on for a couple of hours till everything was wiped clean and they simply down their shutters! -thankfully only some of these things have changed.. except the food, which still draws crowds as can be seen specialy on Sundays as nearly all of Koliwada line up for their weekend treat of Puri Chhole, Kulchas and Parathas.. for me these are next only to the ones we had in Amritsar! Note: only for those who enjoy robust authentic Punjabi fare... others may...
Read moreSo finally I got the chance to eat from here. This place doesn't have a menu card or something that I can post. Hence I'm gonna write down a few of their specialities. They have kulchas, they are famous for their Chole bhature, gulab jamun, lassi and parathas too. We ordered Aloo kulcha and Chole bhature and the owner was kind enough to come in person and ask us if we would like some lassi with it. So we got lassi too. The taste is amazing, the food is very filling. Loved the chole they are a bit on the sweeter side but you get onions and pickle with it which just compliments the the whole sweetness. The place might not be the most hygienic place but hey dont judge a book by its cover! The staff is very friendly. It was my first time having kulchas as living in Mumbai you dont really get such good authentic punjabi food that too at such a great price. The cost for the aloo kulcha, chole bhature and lassi was ₹150. But I do think the owner gave the lassi complimentary. Its a must...
