Mongoose - The Bubble Bar — Restaurant in Mumbai

I remember being extremely excited last year when I heard about a bubble tea bar opening up in Mumbai. I’m obsessed with Bubble tea and the idea made me so happy. In fact I even visited the outlet when it started but due to COVID restrictions the tapioca pearls weren’t available. Cut to 1 year later, it’s 2021, they’ve managed to source their ingredients AND they’ve expanded the menu to include some of my favourite things, dimsum and sushi.

Here’s what I ordered in recently:

Taro Bubble Tea A milk based tea with tapioca pearls, a mild flavour of the purple root vegetable Taro and a perfectly sweetened beverage. There’s nothing not to love about this classic drink. A special mention for the amazing packaging Mongoose offers, their glass is so sturdy and attractive, it won’t leak during delivery and you definitely won’t want to throw it after.

Chicken and Truffle Oil Dumplings A glutinous wrapper that resembles that of a hargao, stuffed generously with minced chicken, veggies and the aroma of truffle oil. Wrapped beautifully and shaped to resemble a little animal with 2 ears and sesame seeds for eyes. This ones a treat for the eyes and the palate.

Green House Avocado, Cucumber and Cream Cheese Maki Definitely my favourite dish from the order and make with fine quality ingredients, this sushi was excellent. The condiments on the side were also of stellar quality and the roll had finesse. I enjoyed the ingredient combination and the balance of flavours. Excited to try a non veg variant next time.

Crystal Veg Dumplings Thin, translucent glutinous wrappers stuffed with flavourful, exotic vegetables and shaped into a beautiful ball, if you’re a vegetarian, this must be on your order.

In this lockdown i have been craving for a lot f sushi's and dim sums . And i am so glad i came across Mongoose as one stop for all pan asain food cravings. Must say the packaging of the food is very well done and the presentation is still maintained well. They offer quick service and must say the delivery is also quick. The food is totally worth the pricing and the quality is at its maximum. Must try would be : 1- Mushroom Bao- Oh my spicy Korean based sauce tossed with tender mushrooms filled in with lettuce and chopped cucumber for the added crunch and the extra spice coming in from the Sriracha Mayo just giving in the right soft and mild spicy addition to the mushroom filling totally loved it. 2- Avocado Cream Cheese Sushi - Maki roll style thinly sliced Avocado topped with sushi rice having a filling of Nori, cream cheese and avocado topped with mild sriracha mayo giving in a mild sweet and spicy touch to the sushi. 3- Prawns and chicken Sumai- Soft juicy minced prawns and chicken filling with mushrooms filled inside the dim sum covering steamed well to bring in the juicy touch in every bite. 4- Berrilicous - Oh my my this bubble tea drink with soft and juicy boba balls just melting in your mouth with the right touch of mixed berry touch making it a very soothing drink . Totally loved my staying home safe experience with the blissful meal...

We were tired of ordering Asian from the same restaurant and decided to try something from @mongoose_asianbubblebar. The delivery arrived in the perfect condition with absolutely no spillage! (We were quite impressed) 🚲 The portion sizes give you a value for money.💰

🍄Mushroom Bao : MUST HAVE Chopped mushrooms stuffed in steaming hot bao, topped with Some Mayo and lettuce. So spicy so good

🍣Green House Avocado Cucumber Cream Cheese Sushi: MUST HAVE 8 pieces of finely rolled sushis served with Soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger.

🥟Edamame Truffle Dumplings: MUST HAVE Finely smashed edamame with truffle, these mini dumplings were a love at first bite.😍 Served with a side of Chilly Oil and Basil Oil.

🧋Passionately Yours Bubble Tea: TRY Very few places serve nice Boba Tea. Mongoose is one of them. We tried passionately yours, which was a mixture of Mango with hints of passion fruits and ofcourse, some yum Bobas that pop in your mouth. We found it a little sweet. But if you’re someone who likes sweet, it is your Boba-Tea! 😋
