A Culinary Adventure at Chembur's Sadguru Hotel: Neer Dosa Review
Nestled in the heart of Chembur, Sadguru Hotel offers a culinary journey through the flavors of South India. On a recent visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in their famed Neer Dosa, a delicate and savory delight that left a lasting impression on my taste buds.
Neer Dosa, a traditional coastal Karnataka dish, is known for its paper-thin texture and subtle coconut flavor. Sadguru Hotel's rendition did not disappoint. The dosas were impeccably thin, almost translucent, with a light, airy texture that melted in the mouth. Served with a delectable coconut chutney and tangy sambar, each bite was a symphony of flavors, perfectly balanced and incredibly satisfying.
However, despite the culinary excellence, my experience at Sadguru Hotel was somewhat marred by sluggish service and a lack of parking facilities. Upon arrival, I found it challenging to secure a parking spot, which added unnecessary stress to the dining experience. Additionally, the service was disappointingly slow, with wait times stretching longer than expected. While the quality of the food certainly compensated for these shortcomings to some extent, it's evident that improvements in service efficiency are needed to enhance the overall dining experience.
Despite these drawbacks, Sadguru Hotel's Neer Dosa remains a standout dish worth savoring. The delicate craftsmanship and authentic flavors make it a must-try for any South Indian cuisine enthusiast. With a few adjustments to address service issues and parking concerns, Sadguru Hotel has the potential to elevate its dining experience to new heights, ensuring that guests leave not only satisfied but eager to return for more culinary delights.
Editing with Thali experience.
I had the thali at Sadguru Veg in Chembur, and overall, the experience was average. The chapati, rice, dal, vegetable curry, and buttermilk were decent but nothing exceptional. The flavors were mild, and the meal was balanced, but it lacked that extra freshness or taste to make it stand out. Unfortunately, the ladoo was spoiled and stinking, which was quite disappointing. While the thali was filling, the quality could have been better. An average experience that could be improved with more...

Read moreThis place I visited after 5 years on 6th March 2022, This place used to serve the best veg food in Chembur especially the pan bhaji and the rates were also good for an average middle class bread earner, but when I visited recently and saw their menu card the prices were sky rocketing, I understand with inflation prices must increase but who sells 6 piece of Pani puri for 70rs, this is insane, even extra pav (2 pieces) cost you 44rs. In 44rs. You can eat 1plate idli, 1plate dosa with extra sambhar and chatni in Chembur street food. Don't even talk about the hygiene you never know how they make food in kitchen. I was astound with the bad taste and exorbitant prices of food.
Visit some other veg restaurant don't waste money here. For one person it will cost minimum 500rs for a full stomach eating.
If you don't believe me just visit once and then hit a like to this post 😉
