Century, Prabhadevi Outlet.
My Worst experience so far. Firstly, They invited me by sending emails and SMS to visit any of the outlet to collect a free tall beverage in my birthday month.
On arriving at this specific outlet, I asked the barista whether or not I can avail a free drink, he confirmed yes I can after entering my number in their system. After confirming twice, I ordered a tall, dark mocha cookie crumble which normally would cost around ā¹390. The Barista had already taken the Glass, and as usual, wrote my name 'Vipul' added 'Happy Birthday' as it was a free drink.
So, Soon after placing the order, the barista informs me "sir, we are not able to place an order for free drink, this is because you have not ordered anything in past 3 months. you'll have to pay, please confirm whether or not you'd like to order".
Trying to avoid the embarrassment that they created, I ended up paying "390" for "free birthday beverage" with "Happy Birthday" written on it.
I felt like I was scammed, the manager had nothing to offer but an apology. That was my last ever beverage at...

I walked into Starbucks India yesterday just to get some work done. A few hours in, one of the staff members, Sati, invited me to a coffee tasting session.
She spoke about Sumatra coffee ā its origin, bold flavour, and the traditional pour-over method using a dripper and filter paper, first invented by a German housewife to make cleaner brews.
Even better, they let me brew it myself.
Now hereās the thing. I donāt even drink coffee regularly. Iāve never developed a taste for it, mostly because Iām lactose intolerant. I casually mentioned that, and they immediately offered almond milk. No fuss. Just a thoughtful switch that made the whole experience feel personal.
And surprisingly, I liked it.
Before I left, they handed me a handwritten note thanking me for being part of it and inviting me back.
It wasnāt just about the coffee. It was a great reminder of what genuine customer experience and branding look like. No loud marketing. Just quiet, intentional gestures that stay with you.
Thatās what makes a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat location and wonderful ambience. However not upto the quality. Having been to numerous Starbucks the beverages here are not "starbucks" starbucks. They are of considerable lower quality and value. Service is fantastic but dont expect a true starbucks experience as you would in the USA. Ice teas are also watered down and more like water with some sugar and just some regular tea flavor. Bring in India they cut corners and feel its acceptable to just do the basics or even a little less. Besides most importantly there is NO parking. If you are not going to make it convenient and think about your customer why should they consider you. Remember, customer is...
