Located in the by-lanes of Chapel Road, is a classic bandra style bungalow where you will find the Subko Coffee House.

The First Floor has their Actual Coffee Cafe, while their retail outlet is at the ground level.

Ambiance : The moment you enter the Cafe, you are greeted with the sight of their barista's workstation where there are various containers having different blends they serve, along with machines and tools needed to make the drinks. This is followed by a display of all the available eatery items that are on the menu, next to the single billing and order counter.

They have various seating arrangements to accommodate a single person or a huge group, or even for a co-operative working area.

Tables have stickers that comprise the WiFi Details, The QR Code to their online menu, and the Table Number. They also have a mini theatre room. The overall ambiance of the place is good for any form of social connection or even for a short remote work session.

What we ordered: Beverages The Hot Peppermint Mocha Coffee: The Mocha was served in a teal coffee Mug having Gold Inlays of the word 'Subko' written in multiple languages, with a matching saucer. While served as it was, I would have preferred it a little hotter. The peppermint flavor was missing and nor was the coffee as strong as desired, despite requesting an extra strong blend. Cascara Lemonade: Served in a clear glass with a metal straw, the Cascara Lemonade is a cold brew drink with a lemonade mix. The Coffee content of this drink was extracted from the pulp of the coffee cherry, which has a mild and pleasing taste, however, the added jaggery overpowered the whole drink despite it acontaining lemon, considering it was supposed to be a lemonade. Snacks: Subko Special Jaago Filling Croissant: Jaago is a Jaggery and Oat milk-based filling that’s sweet, but not overwhelmingly. The croissant was crisp on the outside yet soft and warm on the inside with the filling oozing out when you cut into it. Overall a well-balanced stuffed croissant.

But sadly even though we were hungry, we opted to leave the place and here is why- • I still am not sure of the work protocol they follow and we werent even explained about it but based on what we saw some of the staff ask the customers for their orders while other customers chose to go to the counter and make their orders. We chose to use their QR scanner to place our order. • Even though we placed our order much before the order our next table group went to place in person. Their food and drinks came in early. Yes, i do understand the difference in prep time for various dishes but we just had ordered coffees and a croissant. It took them a long time to get our drinks out of which the peppermint mocha which was supposed to be hot came as a warm beverage. Then we nearly had to wait for 45 mins to get our crossiant that too after following it up with the staff 3 times are regular intervals. To top it off the kitchen lost the order for the croissant, which took them another 30 min to realize, followed by taking my payment receipt to replace the kitchen order, resulting in the delay.

Meanwhile our next table had finished 3 rounds of orders 😅 and i whole meal and left so you can understand the frustration.

Anyways, despite the items of the place being good, and the ambiance being very pleasant, even with the high charges they apply.... the carelessness of the staff, ruined the...

This gorgeous (not so little) coffee shop is one of my favourites in Bandra ever since they opened. Nestled in one of Bandra's heritage cottages, gives it an old worldly cozy charm, unlike any other. I love that they've retained the sanctity of the cottage, with it's wooden structure and home-like feel. Large windows to peer at the world go by in Runwar village - The susegad life. As much as I love the coffees here, the staff are simply superb! Always welcome you with a smile and hi, a "good morning" and "what would you like today?". I say, the cortado, on somedays the flat white. Or on sultry days, a cold mocha, or their classic iced, oh and also the iced cascara lemon. They have some amazing bold and beautiful specialty brews like their Project Sankalp. Pick a box or two for home brewing. They'll grind it for you, as you like, fresh! They also have a great selection of brewing equipment and cute tote bags. Now for their stellar bakes and breads to go are pretty well made. My favourites are their almond croissant and the espresso stuffed one. Their Amann 2.0 is a lovely sweet choice too. As for the savories, they can definitely do much better. I've tried their podi toasts, the chicken green one sando and a few of their seasonal limited time sandos. Taste wise their good, but the price sometimes doesn't justify the portions their serving. Plus, the Savory menu is very very limited. I hope they introduce some heartier munchies too. Plus, the bandra store will soon have their Cacao Mill, of specialty house made chocolates. The Mary lodge Subko is now 3 stories tall, so there's way more space to mull over your coffee without feeling too rushed. Overall, it's a brew-tiful place to spend a quite afternoon or catch up with some work.
