Horrid story to tell about theobroma i c colony giving us a HALF BAKED WET CHEESECAKE!!
So it was my mothers 68th birthday yesterday 30 Nov 2024. I ordered her a surprise cake from the theobroma store thats just 300m from home. We didnt check it as it was a surprise for my mother.
In the evening we opened the cake from the fridge & saw that the CHEESECAKE WAS RUNNY AND LIQUID!!! The letters on the cake were moving, attached pic above.The plastic around couldnt be removed as the cake would overflow!! The baker honestly didnt bake it right. WE SANG HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUT MUMMY DIDNT CUT THE CAKE!!! SEE PHOTO.
What a disappointment to see my mother unable to cut the cake as it was liquid. She was sad, we felt so bad to see her unable to cut the liquid cake. Our guests left without eating cake as well. We were embarrased in front of guests and friends, giving mummy a bad unbaked cake. We went out to dinner anyway & put the cake in fridge to try it out today 1Dec, thinking maybe it needed to set properly. Complaining at 10pm was not a priority as we didnt want to ruin the evening further for mummy.
Today morning 1 Dec we checked it again at 11am, its still sticky, and not set. Its like icecream and stickier. Finally i took pictures today 1 Dec at 12pm after removing the plastic & it fell apart!! I called theobroma to address the issue. After forwarding them pics on whatsapp, i get the response "Thank you for the feedback. We cannot help you as its 24 hours passed"
They expected us to call them in front of our guests last night at 10pm to complain 🤦♀️ Very disappointed to say the least. The evening was ruined as mom stood to cut cake & there was no cake as it was liquid. It hadnt set.The baker didnt bake it correctly.
Im a regular customer & yet they didnt have the courtesy to offer to repair the damage done especially given the occasion of a birthday of a senior. Or even return the money. The cake is as it is, see below pic. Its shape changed because it overflowed.
Never will i return back or recommend. Thanks for ruining a birthday. Here i am on my day off, complaining, only to be unheard. Where are your ethics when you managed to ruin a birthday,& yet show no courtesy to customer grievances?
The cake is still at home, uneaten and uncut. What a horrible birthday we had because of theobroma i c colony staff. She will never forget this...

Out of my excitement and curiosity as I am always crazy for their chocolate brownies - I visited Theobroma in IC colony, and immediately ordered my favorite brownie, while was enjoying it at my ease and also ordered another variant for my husband, and further few take away one’s . This staff in the store Mr. Lawrence- what on earth was wrong with him I don’t know, the way he stared me arrogantly & he straight away denied on my face to give my rest order’s and said to make the payment first else he wont handover any. The man I feel was out of his mind or something was definitely wrong with him, but such people shouldn’t be hired then who are not even mentally stable. As he is a senior age man I simply kept mum there and made my payment and moved out of there. My question to the management of Theobroma is are you keeping us safe by hiring such staff who is not even mentally stable and normal in their behavior. Do you guys at least provide training to your staff or is it that we as Public has to bear the repercussions here. Such an awful experience would never want to visit Theobroma again to get myself humiliated. Of course there are better places in the market too but it was always the Brand and the consistency of the maintained taste that I use to consider. But not anymore! I am sure all other positive reviews for this place are the paid one’s, as I was also noticing the way the rest of the customer’s were Handled. Shame...
Read moreNot at all happy with how they treated us. I had ordered a mango cheesecake for mother’s day. I had purposely placed the order&pick up in the morning so that i can get this specific cake and it doesn’t go out of stock. When i went to the store in the alloted time they gave a lower price cake instead. They were saying its not their not fault & that it is a website glitch. I was pretty annoyed especially when I realised it was lower priced cake and he was not even going to give me the difference of the amount back. I had to argue and then he told me he’ll give me a complimentary brownie of my choice, even after that there was a 20₹ difference.he kept ignoring me cause there were many other customers and told me maybe come after 2 days and then we will give it. I am very unhappy with this turn of events as theobroma is supposed to be a good brand. The “system glitch” as he called it, was the main reason.
