My first visit to this place (months ago now), I was shocked by how long it took to prepare the food. The person there suggested I call in my order ahead of time, which is what I did many times and that seemed to work well. However, there is always an issue with change (Rs. 5 or Rs. 10 less almost always) and once someone gave Rs. 30 less, but without mentioning that to me which was upsetting when I counted the change (dealt with it at that time). This place is located in bazaar lane and there are several employees who could run out when change is low. I suggest keeping 4 Rs. 5 coins, 4 X 10 rupee notes, 2 X 20 rupee notes and 4 X 50's at all times. 5 X 100 rupee notes. In between customers, when you notice that you don't have the change you need, run out and get it from a vegetable vendor or other store. It's a chronic issue that needs to be addressed and bazaar lane is flush with change because there are so many vegetable vendors there. You can go to different ones each time to get the change you need. There are also vendors who run businesses giving people change. Banks have change. You run a business. You need to have change and that onus is on you. Last time I went, I had Turkish eggs. I ordered while I was seated there, which means I was there the moment they came up, but still the eggs were cold when they got to the table. I was with a friend and tired, so didn't have bandwidth to deal with it. Today I ordered after getting there once again and it took about 27 min for my food to emerge. I had the veg rice paper rolls which were delicious. I also ordered the super greens salad, a salad I've had multiple times, so am familiar with the taste. The dressing was extremely acidic/rancid, which suggested it was well past its prime (maybe storage issue? Maybe something else?). Unfortunately, I had poured the dressing on the salad and then tasted it. According to another server, the chef said it didn't have enough salt. It's so disappointing when people don't own up to issues. Salt wasn't the issue at all. The dressing was clearly rancid and spoiled. After spending 10-12 minutes downstairs with the salad, the server reemerged with the same salad (on which the rancid dressing had been poured) and some additional dressing (which tasted much better when I tried it). I said I can't eat it because the bad dressing had been poured on that salad previously, so I may get sick. It was, quite frankly, shocking that I had to point that out. It was then he offered to change the salad (while visibly frowning at me). I said I couldn't wait another 20 min. He said it would take 10 (even though we both knew it would take longer, as it often does), but I said I can't wait. I had an appointment. Please don't do this to customers. If you call yourself True Fit Gourmet, paying attention to the quality of the food is crucial. Mistakes happen; when they do, be honest and rectify. We're all human and I can understand how maybe the dressing was accidentally left out, or something else happened. Had they replaced the salad while they were downstairs for 10 min and brought it up with the new dressing, I would have definitely eaten it. And obviously if rancid dressing has touched a salad, you should never take that salad back to a customer and ask them to eat it. That's just plain common sense. Worse, please don't frown when they refuse to eat it. Someone could get really, really sick, so am bringing this to your attention because the server there (small moustache) didn't seem to understand that. After that, the billing machine wasn't working. After waiting 5 min, I just gave them the money and left. I love the decor of the place. I love that the bathroom is so clean. I have had good meals there and enjoyed the rice paper veg rolls. But what happened today is serious and could make someone very ill. Please make sure your servers understand the implication of what they chose to do. If they were waiting on someone who isn't assertive as I am, that person would have fallen ill. Pls keep music volume at cafe levels, not super loud...
Read moreWe visited this place last Sunday for lunch. We tried quite a few things from their menu which we really enjoyed eating.
The place has an amazing earthy vibe to it and you’ll absolutely love dining in here.
The menu is full of dishes that are good for your health - for the ones who are into clean eating. Coffees and desserts here are to die for!
What we tried out here:
*BEVERAGES
Iced Cappuccino (5/5): Classic Iced Cappuccino that I absolutely fell in love with! The coffee had its own sweetness to it which I absolutely liked.
Coffee Platter (4/5): It was a hot coffee platter. We included French Press, Aero-press, Cortado & Cappuccino.
Cinnamon Smoked Cappuccino (4/5): One of the unique coffee that you get to try out here. It has a nice, smokey & good cinnamon flavour to it. If you’re someone who loves cinnamon, you should definitely try this out!
*FOOD
Pesto Chicken Sandwich (3/5): This was in a multigrain bread! It had grilled pesto chicken and the sandwich was really filling. If you’re someone who likes sandwiches, this one is a must try!
Pesto Crusted Burrata Entree (5/5): This was something different that we tried out here. The Burrata had a nice pesto filling to it and the outside was crusted. This was served on a bed of herbed tomatoes and was served with sourdough bread.
Kaffir Basil Lime Gluten Free Salad Wrap (4/5): This was a salad wrapped in a rice paper roll. Kinda like Vietnamese Rolls you can say. Their house made basil chilli soy dip that came along with this went so damn well with it.
Barbeque Chicken & Cheddar Tartine (5/5): Smokey Barbeque Chicken with caramelised onions and cheddar cheese on a bed of crisp sourdough. This had a nice Indian flavour to it that you’ll absolutely love! Highly recommend this one.
*DESSERTS
Chocolate Pancake (4/5): Who doesn’t like dessert and especially when you get to eat it guilt-free? These were really nice stacked pancakes that were really soft with every bite.
Cacao Coffee Plant (5/5): Even this was a sugar-free dark cacao pot filled with espresso cream and topped with chocolate quinoa crumble. This was something really different that we tried and liked here.
