Yasin's Food Inn — Restaurant in Mumbai

What's special about this place ? It looks like a small corner mughlai restaurant which mainly works on its fast service: the other waiters are always running around hurriedly and the man on the counter is busy preparing one bill after another, while sending food for home delivery also.

Yes,this is a place where you can drop by for some quick ,delicious mughlai food. But ,you can also have a nice family dinner or casual meal at their relatively quieter upstair seating. The first time I went upstairs ,I had no idea that small restaurant could transform into this huge space (which is air conditioned) and also has an outer terrace space ( wow!)

We have been regular at this restaurant, mainly for their home delivery services which is quick and good in quality.

Chicken tandoori ,chicken tikka masala and biryani are a few dishes which we normally order from here, with chicken tandoori being our favourite.

However our recent experience at food inn while dining in was not as expected: the chicken tikka masala and biryani were both bland, not spicy at all , with the chicken biryani tasting weirdly sweet (how!)

The chilli chicken was good, not a dish you can or should go wrong with. The quantity was pretty less for a Chinese dish.

Caramel custard is the dessert you should go for here. One bad experience doesn't mean it's a bad place.Decently priced for their quantity, it provides for a good budget...

What we were served: Masala Fries, Potato Cheese Balls, Chowpatty Bhel and Stuffed Mushrooms

Masala Fries - Fries, spiked with an Indian-twist, for a street-food vibe served with a sprinkle of garam masala and chili powder. Nothing but ordinary.

Potato Cheese Balls - If your taste buds are tingling for something fried and you're a fan of potatoes and cheese, these home-like potato cheese balls are just the thing for you to have on the go.

Chowpatty Bhel - Bhelpuri is called Churu Muri in Bangalore and Jhaal Muri in Kolkata but nothing can beat like Mumbai’s Chowpatty Bhel. Puffed rice, three chutneys, onions, tomatoes and masala sev come together to create this quick snack. Pretty much Bombay Beach style.

Stuffed Mushrooms - With their rich, buttery flavour and crispy topping, these mushrooms usually make the ultimate appetizer. However, the mushrooms were not neatly prepped and baked.

Yasin food in is a foodies paradise. They offer the usual Mughali food but this time it's only the flavours that speak out so strongly. So when in the vicinity I order from this place and this time it was no exception.

So here's what ordered.

1. Mix tikka - This was a very good option for vegetarians. The tikka was soft and melted in your mouth.

2. Shahi Chicken leg - For a change this was green in colour and had that extra heat from the mirchi coming across. If your bored of the tandoori then try this.

3. Chicken Afghani gravy - A very good Mughali dish the rich creamy sauce just made sure that my heart was full. Delicious!!

4. Murg angara / Food inn Special chicken - I may have messed up the names but one of them for sure. I loved the chicken and the curry. Very different for the afgani chicken, this tasted more like a Delhi styled curry.

5. Lachha Paratha - Flaky soft Laccha Paratha. Paired so well with all the above curries.

6. Strawberry milkshake - You need a nice drink to push down a heavy meal. This was was great. Cold and nice.

7. Chicken biryani - well this one was average for me. Firstly too oily and secondly too much kewada water was added making this strong.
