Tucked away in the bustling heart of Lower Parel, Yazu brings together a rich tapestry of Pan-Asian flavors with a modern, chic ambiance. I recently had the pleasure of dining in on a curated selection of their offerings from vibrant mocktails to indulgent desserts. Yazu delivers an immersive Pan-Asian dining experience that goes beyond the plate. The service was attentive, the ambience vibrant yet cozy, and the food was consistently excellent. Following are my recommendations:

🥂 Mocktail – Yoshi & Shojo

Yoshi: A refreshing blend, possibly with yuzu or citrus notes, striking the right balance between sweet and tangy. A great palate opener. Shojo: Slightly more complex with hints of berries or floral tones. It had a smooth finish and paired beautifully with the sushi. Both mocktails were crafted with a flair that made them more than just alcohol-free fillers.

🍣 Sushi – Prawns Tempura Roll This roll was a standout. The tempura was light and crispy, with the prawn inside retaining its juiciness. The sushi rice was seasoned just right not overly vinegared and the roll held together well without being dense.

🥟 Dimsum Crispy Prawn Cheung Fun A creative twist on the traditional cheung fun. The outer rice roll was silky smooth while the inner prawn filling brought in the perfect crunch and umami. The accompanying sauce elevated the dish without overpowering it.

🍤 Small Bites – Butter Garlic Sichuan Tiger Prawn : These tiger prawns were plump, perfectly cooked, and coated in a rich garlic butter sauce with a subtle Sichuan kick. The flavor profile was bold, yet the freshness of the prawns shone through.

🍛 Prawns in Spicy XO Sauce & Chak-Hao Rice : The Spicy XO Prawns brought serious depth umami-rich, mildly spicy, and beautifully complemented by bell peppers and aromatics. The Chak-Hao Rice (black rice) was nutty and slightly sticky, pairing well with the rich XO sauce. It added an earthy base that tied the dish together seamlessly.
