Earth Soul Cafe: A Cafe Made by Friends, But Only for Their Friends?....

As their menu claims, “A cafe made by friends,” but in reality, it feels more like “A cafe made by friends for their friends.” If you’re not part of that circle, you might want to reconsider going.

Last week, I visited this cafe in Belapur. My wife and I were wandering the streets, looking for a place to spend a pleasant evening. The sound of karaoke caught our attention, and feeling romantic, I thought it would be the perfect spot to sing along with my wife and enjoy the vibe.

As we entered, the staff greeted us warmly, were courteous, and even recommended some great food options. They went the extra mile to provide a baby chair for my daughter, which we really appreciated.

We expressed our interest in singing karaoke not once but twice to the staff, who assured us they had passed on the message to the console. While we waited, our food arrived, and it was absolutely delicious. Everything about the dining experience, from the taste to the presentation, was spot-on and worth every penny.

Unfortunately, what started as a promising evening took a disappointing turn. Despite our repeated requests, the karaoke console seemed entirely monopolized by a group of the owner’s friends (may or may not be, but it doesn’t make a difference), who sang back-to-back songs without any consideration for other guests. It felt like our presence and requests didn’t matter.

The whole idea of going to the cafe was to create a romantic memory with my wife, but this blatant disregard for other customers ruined the atmosphere. The food and service were stellar, but the experience left a sour taste because of the owner's inability to manage the situation.

To their credit, one of the owners noticed our disappointment and approached us to sing, but by then, the moment had passed.

While the food and service deserve praise, the lack of inclusivity and attention to customer experience overshadowed everything. A cafe isn’t just about good food or friendly service – it’s about creating a welcoming environment for all, not just a select group of friends.

Earth Soul Café is a charming vegetarian café that manages to hold its ground despite being neighbors to strong competitors like Blue Tokai. Known for its chill and laid-back ambience, the café has an aesthetic vibe that immediately draws you in. My visit to the café during the holiday season only amplified its charm, as the place was beautifully adorned with Christmas-themed decorations, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere.

The staff at Earth Soul Café truly deserve applause. They are cheerful, attentive, and go out of their way to ensure that you have a pleasant dining experience. Service is prompt, with the staff always wearing a smile, adding a personal touch to your visit.

As for the food, it’s entirely vegetarian, which might be a limitation for some, but they do strive to make it unique. The loaded nachos could use some improvement in terms of flavor and presentation. However, the pumpkin wedges combination stood out – a healthy and innovative dish, especially with the wedges being air-fried. The gluten-free paneer tikka pizza was a delightful surprise; it was flavorful, though it did take a while to arrive.

The affogato, however, was slightly underwhelming. For the price point, it could have been presented in the traditional cappuccino glass with pistachio ice cream on the side and the espresso shot in the center. Unique offerings like this could set them apart from other cafés in the area.

Overall, Earth Soul Café is a lovely place to relax and enjoy some decent vegetarian bites. While there’s room for improvement in their menu, the ambience and service make it worth a visit.
