Food industry is a competitive business - those who end up developing a loyal repeat customer base survive, others can often go bust as customers run about seeking novelty.

I happened to go on a humid afternoon and found no rush - it has the feel of a lazy diner - the quintessential setting of so many iconic Hollywood movie scenes - Pulp Fiction comes to mind.

However, unlike US diners, an average Indian cannot afford to eat at this place, but I guess you didn't come here for social commentary.

Anyway, by the numbers:

Ambience: Relaxed - can have a conversation in the afternoons Staff and service - friendly and considerate 6/5 Washroom - decent, no complaints 5/5 Cutlery - no complaints 5/5

Food - It's a burger - it's supposed to be fulfilling - at the prices charged portion size seemed a bit skimpy and perhaps there should be more choices for the lactose intolerant - there are ingredients beyond cheese and mayo for moisture and greasing. Regarding the ingredients - it's not McDonald's and it's not a concert place so food prices don't have to cover the artists' fee. Of course the menu does a good job of explaining the ingredients and they are well thought out - no doubt. I am hoping they make their own pattie but it felt like it was an assembled one and not one made in-house. Again, it's a 'feeling' and i am not an expert. Nevertheless... 3.5/5

Health quotient - it's a cheeseburger, damnit, save it for your weekly cheat meal Remote Work Friendliness - There was no heavy music and not a lot of chatter - 5/5 (but your mileage may vary depending on the time of the day) Solo dining quotient - it's great for that, 5/5

TL,DR: decent burgers; consider...

Well in total I had three burgers, out of which two were veg and one non veg. This was the first time I was visiting this place. It was the hype that surrounds AKUs and my love for the burgers that got me here. So on that note lets start the review,

🍔 Beetroot burger 🍔 I dont know they have some fancy name for it, it was totally tasteless. No flavour whatsoever (I guess this should be its name lolz). Thats it. No flavour maroon colour patty.

🍔 Mushroom Burger 🍔 Shrooms weren't caramelized and lot of other toppings were missing. I patty were also not grilled to perfection. Every bite it would feel as if its just that plain bun youbare munching on. Disappointed again.

🍔 chicken burger🍔 Don't remember the name but its the only one having a crispy chicken patty, at least its what they claim, so the patty was nice juicy and fresh. Shiracha sauce and the mayo was also on point. But then too, at the most it was just a plain mediocre chicken burger. Nothing compared to what guys at Nandos or Good Flippin Burgers and other joints are doing.

So in the end there is nothing exciting that will be bringing me back to the AKUs. It was a heartbreak as the pictures at the swwig n zomata were very enticing. Thats all. Hope you stayed till the end of this heart felt eulogy. Bye...

I recently visited Aku’s in Basant Lok and was thoroughly impressed by both their burgers and coffee. This place is a hidden gem for anyone who appreciates quality food and a good cup of joe.

The burgers are simply outstanding. Each one is crafted with care, featuring juicy, perfectly cooked patties, fresh ingredients, and flavorful sauces. The menu offers a variety of options, catering to all tastes, whether you prefer classic cheeseburgers or something more gourmet. The buns are always fresh, and the combination of flavors in each bite is nothing short of delightful.

The coffee is equally remarkable. From rich espressos to creamy lattes, the baristas here know their craft. The beans are clearly of high quality, and the attention to detail in each cup is evident. Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee to go or sitting down to enjoy it, the experience is consistently excellent.

The ambiance of the café is warm and inviting, making it a great spot to hang out with friends or simply unwind. The staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience.

If you're looking for a place that excels in both burgers and coffee, Aku’s should be at the top of your list. Highly recommended!

Dropped by Akku’s in Vasant Vihar Market and tried three of their burgers—because why commit to one when you can mildly judge all three? 🤣 The Grilled Chicken & Bun was like that friend who’s nice but doesn’t text back—decent, wholesome, but kinda dry and not very exciting. Good amount of chicken, but where were the sauces? Did they forget or was this a trust exercise in “natural flavors”? The chalapeno Burger came in hot (literally and figuratively). Same grilled chicken vibes but now with some sauce, some flair, a little personality. Definitely the extrovert of the bunch. The Bold Bingo—a mutton burger—was solid. Juicy, flavorful, and the kind of burger that doesn’t make you rethink your life choices. Overall, Akku’s does good burgers. Not life-changing, not Instagram-caption-worthy, but good enough. Would I travel across town for it? No. Would I eat it again if I was nearby and hungry? Absolutely. Think of it as the dependable backup dancer of burger joints.
