Today was my Fifth Visit to Annakoot, I have purposely waited, giving them the benefit of doubt, before writing my review.
Pros first; This place could give you a change of taste, add variety specially if you have a sweet tooth, some of their Indian Sweets are very nice. However, their cake and pastry spread are not worth trying. It will be better to eat from Nathus Pastry shop. Their Savoury options are regular stuff, but worth trying for a change of taste. As the place is not very old, you will less likely to find many customers, even on a Sunday.
Cons;
Untrained staff. Unscrupulous in their customer dealing, trying to cut corners. Despite of them saying Hare Krishna to customers, they are not following so called Krishna message of honest karm... Trying to fool customers. It's very disturbing.
People at the cash counter hardly ever wear a mask, and on pointing out so, wear it reluctantly , rolling their eyes. Covid guidelines are not adhered to properly.
Overall, I will try and refrain from going here again, because of better options available just couple of...
Read moreIf street food has your heart, this is the place for you. They provide hygenic and peaceful environment where you can enjoy your food.. They have a huge variety to choose from and they have tried to come with more unique types of sweets. To start firstly i ordered paneer dosa. It is a tasty and healthy option as the dosa had a nice filling of paneer and vegetables. It was good. The sambars and chutney were nice too. Next paneer pakoda was amazing. The size is pretty good and so is the taste. Now coming to the best part. The sweets are nothing but amazing. They make each of their sweet look tempting. I had Annakoot special, kaju gulkand gilori, kaju crispy ball, pista delight, sugar free dryfruit laddu and rose badam ladduu. All of these were mind blowing. Annakoot special is a must try. All of these are so different and yummy. Everyone should visit this place for some lip smacking sweets and...
Read moreProbably the only place in Delhi where apart from paying state & centre GST you have to pay a God tax. Known as Dharmada by ISKCON, it's a hefty 5% tax that quietly added to your bill & no options about getting it deducted. Knowing that they don't pay in tax to any government, I wonder where does the money for the God tax go to. When I bought the sweets, I wasn't aware of the God tax and later when I wanted to pack some more sweets minus the God tax, I was informed that it couldn't be deducted. Even the amount of the God tax differed as when I was ordered over the phone, the God tax went above the 5% marked in the earlier bill, finally I didn't buy the extra sweets nor do I plan to do so ever again. I'd rather give my money to bona fide registered charities than being quietly appropriated for who knows what...
