NOW THIS IS AN AMAZING STORY
Located at the small community centre just next to D6 entry gate Vasant kunj, new Delhi, India. Just opposite the flyover.
I have lived in this area for over 30 years its practically my village heeeeeee Yes honestly this locality is home to the retired so its slow rather quiet and still has a bit of buzz. I pass Chai Point twice a day if not more as its just opposite the mother dairy where I get my milk and bread from plus walk my dog past it twice a day.
So what got me to walk up to this really small place and want to try out the food. Guess what I had observed that there was a frantic rush of Zomato and Swiggy delivery boys, the parking was full of these branded bikes and smart young boys rushing around to get their order.
So if so many people are ordering I thought there must be something special to it. So last evening as I was strolling around I decided to check it out.
Its not a café but a takeaway though there is a small patch of grass in front that has four make shift chairs and a cement table where you can choose to sit. manned by just two people I realised the menu ran as long as delhi to Mumbai :) its a place to snack and snacks galore.
The pizza pasta and bun maskas are good though the chicken wings were the best, its not as fancy as KFC but its straight off home made literally no frills just crispy jucy chicken wings that re spiced just right.
the drinks are great have a choice of some very healthy combinations which actually sound exotic. I'm a lemonade fan so had my fill of that.
So if you are in a rush and have to pick up something this...
Read moreThe staff met and greeted us outside the store. To quite an extent they were shocked that someone had managed to reach the store because getting there currently is quite a task and an adventure too. With the Metro construction on for the last few months the place is now just a delivery place. It's actually not even a takeaway. That small market complex is in a dilapidated state and what was maybe a bustling place with burger joints and other places is in shambles. Chai Point is probably the one outlet operating out of that place. So when we landed up there at 10:30pm hoping to get a nice cup of tea and some quiet time we were in as much if not more of a shock than the staff. We anyways went ahead and ordered a chai and banana cake combo and liked the chai so ordered one more. The service, smiles and courtesy extended by Mr Deepak made up for the lack of seating and ambience.
So important to note - Please order online or if you want to play treasure hunt go for a pickup but please don't plan a meeting or a rendezvous else ,... ... You will have one more story...
Read moreOrdered via swiggy - mini cattle ginger tea. So please Imagine a garlic tea with a dash of ginger. It smelled and tasted yuck !!! I could not even go beyond 2 sips ..Yes that is what was delivered to me few minutes back. Also out of the 2 pieces of cakes ... I recieved a last minute call cancelling one ... Shame indeed. A dhaba tea is much cheaper, much better and what freshness ..a sheer waste of money, tea- mood and time......
