Chowringhee — Restaurant in New Delhi

Don't buy any food from them. The manager, the counter guy and the delivery guy are all frauds. They charged me more than the actual price. I ordered thali for 10 days and here is what happened: The price of veg thali is Rs 177 and non-veg thali is Rs 210 but they added Rs 20 extra every time I placed the order. This way I lost 200 rupees for no reason. They never shared the bill or menu ( I asked them several times). I got to know about this scam when another delivery boy told me about the actual price. I reached out to the manager but he too is part of the scam. They are trying to make extra money because they lose a part of the total earnings on GST. I am sure other customers have experienced the same.

Final Note: In Satya Niketan, you will hardly find any honest restaurant business owner or any other honest business. All of them are looking for a shortcut to make extra bucks from students who have limited options. Always ask for bills and an updated menu. Don't trust them. Negotiate and speak up if you face any issues. Complain about them to the governing authorities and teach...

If you're a vegetarian, please avoid this eatery/restaurant. They prepare the vegetarian rolls, paneer rolls on the same pan where chicken,non-veg dishes are prepared. A staunch vegetarian would never eat here.When I asked the staff why they cook the veg items on non-veg he arrogantly replied "sab veg khane wale aise hi khate hain". Not just this eatery) restaurant will hurt your religious sentiments,they will also force you to alter your food choices. There are restaurants that take care to keep veg and non veg preparations separate and at low prices. But these types of eateries are least bothered about customers preference and they charge the best money they can. They don't even care for hygiene, just take a quick glance at the vegetables being chopped behind the shop, you'll rethink your decision to eat the preparation. Overall rating 4 star for me, coz the taste is the most important thing for an eatery whereas chowringhee this time couldn't make it upto their name. Atmosphere is of course good as situated right in the mid of satyaniketan market, nice modern surroundings, service is good compared to the level of walkin and order they get, which is appreciable. About rolls, we ordered chicken malai tikka rolls and mutton keema rolls, filling was good in quantity, sauce etc filled properly, but the rotis were too thick as compared to rolls and seekh were less cooked. Definitely will visit again to raste more options as since last 2-3 times it was below our expectations. It's a brand hence taste is most essential, we want the all time taste of Chowringhee...
