Nathu's sweets , bengali market is one of my best hang out places since my childhood.. I remember coming here wid my father n enjoying variety of veg food items ,sweets n savories..It used to be my school days hang out and meeting point fr all of our friends from Delhi n Noida..We used to meet at bengali market ,had our first fixed meal i.e chola bhatura ,Dosa and Raj-kachori or Gol-Gappas..we used to plan our next move while having breakfast at NATHU'S.. TIME Passed by and we are here in 2025 in our mid 30's having children n yet to make another remarkable memories wid our children as were made by our parents .. Today i.e 10th August 2025 ,i visited NATHU SWEETS wid my family and had that same chola bhatura,Dosa and Raj kachori whch i used to have wen i used to come wid my frnds..But i m EXTREMELY SORRY to state the quality of all these three items were not at all good, rather i would say it was DISAPPOINTING..CHOLA BHATOORA was just Ok ,bhatura's were VERY LIGHT n TOO OILY ,choley was COLD and TASTELESS and the only taste u can get in it was of an ACHAAR whch was a small packed ,ready-made one..now we move on to DOSA which lacks in taste too, from sambhar to both white n orange chutney ,everything was far away from taste.. Now comes to RAJ-KACHORI ,The kachori was soft n felt as though dat its been prepared an hour before or so,even dat was not the issue, apart of it being sub standard ,it was filled wid hell amount of spices n its reaction was so dat literally tears started coming out of our eyes.. But still it wasn't da worst part of our visit ,it was when i asked for a normal water instead of BOTTLED WATER..first of all he served only 2 glass of water despite of 4 people sitting on the table, and worst part of it was the QUALITY OF WATER,it was WHITISH in Colour as though somebody has added few drops of milk into it..upon asking abt the water quality, the waiter told me that he just filled it wid RO and it is good to have..well the next thing dat happened was the same thing whch dey might have thought every customer will do upon seeing the tap water quality i.e. TO ORDER A BOTTLED WATER.. which was for some 60+ rupees i guess..finally we had that food n i made a small complaint regarding it to the waiter who was serving me but then i realized that i should do it to the manager as its my childhood shop n i dnt want dere image to get shattered n they will take swift action against it.. upon my complaining to the manager/cashier about all dese issues whch just happened with me ,he didn't even bothered to have a look at me n gave me a very cold reply ..His callous attitude towards the customer made me write this complaint so that the higher authorities could take cognizance to the issues whch i have stated above and could take appropriate action...

This is an old sweet shop in a very prime location in Central Delhi, Bengali Market. Pros:

  1. Tasty, street style food at a prime & comfortable location without worrying about parking as ample space just in front
  2. Chole Bhature are pretty tasty and once again you get them sitting in an Air Conditioned hall, which is a must particularly in scorching Delhi temperature Cons:
  3. Suggest to go for disposable utensils as I have felt that the washing of utensils is not up to the mark.
  4. It is like Haldiram; however the standards are way away from Haldiram. It was at one time, the only name in “North India” - Nathu’s & then fast forward a few years, it has lost it’s name and place among Bikanervala & Haldiram’s.
  5. The staff is also not welcoming as you would find in Haldiram’s and a little I would say “Desi”, which doesn’t go well in today’s world as in this century, if I don’t find the staff welcoming, I would rather go spend my money elsewhere.
  6. The sweets are not at all up to the mark and once I ate small rasgullas and OMG, even comparing them with Haldiram’s would have been a sin.
  7. If you need your hands to be washed before eating, the washing area is like a dhaba’s. You just do not want to touch the tap there as that is so dirty. I mean with so much money earned over the years, the restaurant can at least have a washroom and proper hand washing area. These are very very...

Nathu Sweets in Bengali Market is truly an iconic gem of Delhi! Every visit here is a reminder of why it has been one of the most loved sweet shops in the city for decades. The variety is mind-blowing – from traditional classics like rasgullas, gulab jamuns, and kaju katli to beautifully prepared modern sweets, everything tastes authentic, fresh, and made with the best quality ingredients. The richness and balance of flavors are exactly how Indian mithai should be.

But it’s not just about the sweets – their chaat and snacks deserve equal appreciation. The golgappas, dahi bhalla, papdi chaat, and pav bhaji are absolute crowd-pleasers, bursting with flavor and served hygienically. It’s the perfect spot to bring family and friends, whether for a festive celebration or just a casual evening treat.

The staff is polite, quick to serve, and always attentive even when the shop is buzzing with customers. The hygiene and cleanliness are maintained well, which is impressive given the heavy footfall.

What I love most about Nathu Sweets is the consistency – no matter how many years pass or how many times I visit, the taste and quality never change. It’s nostalgic, reliable, and always satisfying. Truly a place that represents the rich food culture of Delhi.

Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience authentic Indian sweets and snacks in their...

Nathu's in Bengali Market, established back in 1939, is more than just a restaurant; it's a cherished part of my life. I've been a regular patron here since my school days, spanning over four decades, and I'm delighted to report that the taste has remained consistently outstanding over the years. What's truly remarkable about Nathu's is its enduring appeal. It's not just a place to grab a meal; it's a living testament to the rich culinary history of Delhi. People from all corners of the city continue to flock to this iconic spot, creating a delightful mix of history and taste that transcends generations. For me, Nathu's has always been synonymous with a few classic favorites. The chole bhature, with its perfectly fluffy and flavorful bhature paired with spicy, tangy chole, has always been a standout. The gol gappe, with their crispy shells and tangy, spicy water, are an absolute delight. And, of course, the chat offerings at Nathu's are a burst of flavors that never disappoint. Nathu's isn't just a place for food; it's a place for nostalgia and tradition. It's where countless memories have been made and where generations have come to appreciate the timeless flavors of Delhi's culinary heritage. So, if you're ever in the area, make sure to stop by Nathu's and experience the wonderful mix of history and taste that this legendary establishment has to offer.

Nathu sweet is no more close to how it used to be before covid lock down. 1. Service: New staff get totally messed up on weekend and will ignore you with rude face unlike pre covid when they used to tell guest politely that we have 6 order lined up then will serve you meanwhile you can order lassi or papdi chat like snacks. 2. Taste: Not able to believe blunder they hv done to taste of food. Chhola bhatura spoiled is ok chef might hv changed during covid. But chef service half cooked rice which feels like stone is sheer taking guest for granted. Upon telling waiter about it, they just nod yes its like that today due to huge crowd. 3. Order: monchow soup but was served without sauces, deluxe thali but no pickle and tasteless dal makhni and raw rice, rabdi- fake rabdi..its dahi mathha in name of rabdi and lastly kadi had dry pakoras just thrown into it before serving. 4. Once crowd went down at least service improved n waiter just recalled that we asked for extra chhole n bhaji. This was my 3rd try post covid and not sure why each time i am expecting it must hv regained its pre covid taste n service looking at huge crowd. But now will not doubt myself any further.
