Nathu's sweets , bengali market is one of my best hang out places since my childhood.. I remember coming here wid my father n enjoying variety of veg food items ,sweets n savories..It used to be my school days hang out and meeting point fr all of our friends from Delhi n Noida..We used to meet at bengali market ,had our first fixed meal i.e chola bhatura ,Dosa and Raj-kachori or Gol-Gappas..we used to plan our next move while having breakfast at NATHU'S.. TIME Passed by and we are here in 2025 in our mid 30's having children n yet to make another remarkable memories wid our children as were made by our parents .. Today i.e 10th August 2025 ,i visited NATHU SWEETS wid my family and had that same chola bhatura,Dosa and Raj kachori whch i used to have wen i used to come wid my frnds..But i m EXTREMELY SORRY to state the quality of all these three items were not at all good, rather i would say it was DISAPPOINTING..CHOLA BHATOORA was just Ok ,bhatura's were VERY LIGHT n TOO OILY ,choley was COLD and TASTELESS and the only taste u can get in it was of an ACHAAR whch was a small packed ,ready-made one..now we move on to DOSA which lacks in taste too, from sambhar to both white n orange chutney ,everything was far away from taste.. Now comes to RAJ-KACHORI ,The kachori was soft n felt as though dat its been prepared an hour before or so,even dat was not the issue, apart of it being sub standard ,it was filled wid hell amount of spices n its reaction was so dat literally tears started coming out of our eyes.. But still it wasn't da worst part of our visit ,it was when i asked for a normal water instead of BOTTLED WATER..first of all he served only 2 glass of water despite of 4 people sitting on the table, and worst part of it was the QUALITY OF WATER,it was WHITISH in Colour as though somebody has added few drops of milk into it..upon asking abt the water quality, the waiter told me that he just filled it wid RO and it is good to have..well the next thing dat happened was the same thing whch dey might have thought every customer will do upon seeing the tap water quality i.e. TO ORDER A BOTTLED WATER.. which was for some 60+ rupees i guess..finally we had that food n i made a small complaint regarding it to the waiter who was serving me but then i realized that i should do it to the manager as its my childhood shop n i dnt want dere image to get shattered n they will take swift action against it.. upon my complaining to the manager/cashier about all dese issues whch just happened with me ,he didn't even bothered to have a look at me n gave me a very cold reply ..His callous attitude towards the customer made me write this complaint so that the higher authorities could take cognizance to the issues whch i have stated above and could take appropriate action...
Read moreThis is an old sweet shop in a very prime location in Central Delhi, Bengali Market. Pros:
Nathu Sweets in Bengali Market is truly an iconic gem of Delhi! Every visit here is a reminder of why it has been one of the most loved sweet shops in the city for decades. The variety is mind-blowing – from traditional classics like rasgullas, gulab jamuns, and kaju katli to beautifully prepared modern sweets, everything tastes authentic, fresh, and made with the best quality ingredients. The richness and balance of flavors are exactly how Indian mithai should be.
But it’s not just about the sweets – their chaat and snacks deserve equal appreciation. The golgappas, dahi bhalla, papdi chaat, and pav bhaji are absolute crowd-pleasers, bursting with flavor and served hygienically. It’s the perfect spot to bring family and friends, whether for a festive celebration or just a casual evening treat.
The staff is polite, quick to serve, and always attentive even when the shop is buzzing with customers. The hygiene and cleanliness are maintained well, which is impressive given the heavy footfall.
What I love most about Nathu Sweets is the consistency – no matter how many years pass or how many times I visit, the taste and quality never change. It’s nostalgic, reliable, and always satisfying. Truly a place that represents the rich food culture of Delhi.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience authentic Indian sweets and snacks in their...
