The Treat — Restaurant in New Delhi

Horrible food, barely edible, atleast 2 days of upset stomach guaranteed, overpriced, overhyped. The only decent food item was the complimentary chopped onion on the side. Wish the owner & his family eats a full meal here one day & gets the taste of his own medicine. The parantha was tailor-made for dogs, instead of humans. The butter chicken had no butter, made with old gravy. The dal was not fresh either. Can only imagine the mockery of hygiene standards in the kitchen. Forget about getting the bad food returned / rehashed / discounted. No room for feedback.

An embarrassment in the name of Mughlai food, being served in the heart of foreign embassies in India. Nothing Mughlai about it. Mughals will come out of the grave if they come to know that their cuisine is mis-sold like this.

The owner is self obsessed, intimidating, rude, arrogant, behaves like some big time celebrity, riding on his high horse, blows his own trumpet continuously, basking in his imaginary glory, in love with his own voice, can't get enough of himself, lacks humility. Whatever little success, has gone to his head. Age has caught up with him & customers tolerate the nonsense only out of respect for his vintage. A greedy hawk interested in billing rather than a restaurateur.

This place is still alive only coz of its prime location in Delhi's VIP area, branding with Bollywood's Rajesh Khanna, word of mouth since couple of decades & open hours of 2 PM to 6 AM. Must have leveraged connections built over the years, in municipality, traffic cops, police, electricity supplier, sanitary inspectors etc., for survival.

Service was good. Unhappy, overworked, scared staff. Painful to not tip them.

Don't fall for its story, its a rip off. Never again. Eat at your own risk. Better late night roadside street food shacks / kiosks / vans available in Delhi.

DOESN'T DESERVE EVEN 1 ⭐ REVIEW

My entire experience ruined by their behaviour and their fraudulent activities.

Horrible people are managing this food joint. I went at the evening and ordered simple --- Chicken Manchow Soup (wherever Chow was not served) price was Rs.250 (quality and value wasn't worth more than Rs.120) Veg Fried Rice (only found beans & Carrot in the rice) price was Rs.350 (quality and value worth not more than Rs.200, even a roadside thela serves a better fried rice) Veg Manchurian (when I placed the order, staff asked whether I want dry or gravy and to my surprise they charged me Rs.80/- for my choice which was gravy.) A small bowl of manchurian costed me Rs.460. Which was again not worth it. It was cooked only with tomato ketchup i suppose, it was pathetic. Coke After finishing the food, when I asked for the bill, they said just the amount is Rs.1460. (Which was totally wrong). When we asked them to give us the bill, they simply refused to provide any bill, then when we asked to pay through UPI (although they had PhonePe QR code) they were forcing us to pay in cash and when we said that we are not carrying cash they asked us to partially pay in cash and rest through UPI, which we refused again to pay by cash, then they gave us a paytm qr code of one of the employee.

They are evading taxes, not providing quality food and charging exorbitant price for worst food. We went there through some insta post which we now feel must be a paid post.

Please avoid this...

Pathetically ill mannered owner. Has no respect for the costumers as he wants you to leave as soon as you take the last bite into your mouth. Would never recommend you to go there as he doesn't really want you to be there. If this continues, I'm sure this place would shut down in less than 2 months. He will tell you the cost of each table laid overthere. My husband is the owner of 6 showrooms but never does he insults his customers. The owner of the treat is arrogant to the level no one can match and due to which Late. Mr. Rajesh khanna must be hurt and disappointed. Please never go there. According to the owner "whether you come again or not. This is not the place to play. You don't know what is ownership". Person feeding you food, if has this kind of emotion towards you, then he's either out of his mind or success has got into his head. Seeing his attitude towards his customers, I doubt if he's serving clean and hygienic food. Please DO NOT go there. He is not at all a safe man and a mentally unstable person. It was a disturbing experience for me and my husband. I wish life teaches him a lesson soon by getting his licence to function overthere, cancelled. Every action has made a reaction. Pathetic guy....
