Read moreOh, what a lovely time I had at Amity Pub in Pondicherry—truly a night to remember, if you enjoy being scammed. They greeted us with a cover charge—oh, don’t worry, it’s “redeemable”—and then slapped an extra 200 bucks per head because, you know, stags are clearly rolling in cash. Inside? Drinks priced like they’re playing the stock market. Nearly 500 for a drink? Genius! Plus a cute little 10% club charge, because why not bleed us dry? I argued about their shady pricing tricks, and after some whining, they dropped the “dynamic pricing” nonsense. But that 10% fee? Nope, they clung to it like their lives depended on it. They bragged about a “guest DJ from Bangalore” to justify the Saturday cover—wow, so fancy! Except he strolled in at 9 PM, then chilled with the staff till 11. We got there at 8:30, twiddling our thumbs for over two hours, listening to music so dull it could put a toddler to sleep. Everyone around was bored out of their minds. Then, at 12:30 AM, a bunch of foreigners waltzed in, and shocker—the DJ finally remembered how to play something decent. Discrimination? Nah, just “perfect timing,” right? The food? Oh, a real treat. The fish and chips? So dry I could’ve used the fish as sandpaper—chef’s kiss! The wings were okay, I guess, saved by some sauce because the meat was basically cardboard. Crispy prawns were fine, didn’t suck, and the biryani was tasty enough to not ruin my night completely. The only thing worth a damn was this gorgeous girl in a black dress, dancing her heart out to every garbage beat like a total champ. She was a stunner, no lie—practically the only reason my eyes didn’t bleed from boredom. Still, even she couldn’t fix this trainwreck. Overpriced, mismanaged, and a total joke—skip Amity Pub unless you...
Read moreWORST BIRTHDAY EXPERIENCE EVER — PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU GO!
We had one of the most disappointing and heartbreaking experiences at this place while celebrating my birthday.
My husband had planned everything perfectly, including ordering a customized cake worth ₹4000 to make the celebration special. But to our utter shock, the manager named Vijay dropped the cake himself—yes, the customized birthday cake, destroying the entire moment.
He immediately said, “Don’t worry, I’ll arrange and pay for a new cake. Sorry for the inconvenience.” But he did NOTHING. It was my husband who had to again rush and place an urgent order for another cake worth ₹3700 from a renowned bakery. They had clearly told us they would bear the cost of the second cake since the mishap was their fault.
But now, after everything is over and we’re home, they’re backing out, saying, “We gave you an offer on the final bill, so that includes the cake.” How is that acceptable?? Spoil our day, make us pay ₹7000 for two cakes, and then throw a vague discount at us as if it’s a favour?
Also, no proper apology, no sincerity, and definitely no professional accountability. The “offers” they claim were never discussed with us on the spot—only texted after we left, as a weak excuse to avoid paying for the second cake.
The so-called decoration was pathetic, food was average at best, and the staff behaviour and management were shockingly poor. This was supposed to be a happy occasion—we left with stress and disappointment.
To all my fellow Pondy people: DO NOT consider this place for birthdays or special occasions. Poor management, bad food, zero coordination, and no respect for customer experience.
You only get one birthday a year — don’t let them ruin yours like they...
