Oh, what a delightful Tuesday lunch outing for our family of 4 when returning from Cuddalore towards Chennai. We wanted a pure veg lunch so entered Sri Aryaas restaurant! We bravely ordered three South Indian meals and a paneer tikka biryani, expecting a traditional feast. Instead, we got a magical fusion surprise:
Paneer Tikka Biryani: fried rice tossed with an entire paneer tikka and a colorful medley of barely cooked bell peppers and onions—because who needs proper cooking when you can have a veggie salad masquerading as biryani? The spice mix was an adventurous blend—star anise met cinnamon, apparently on a quest to confuse our taste buds by crashing a kurma party. The biryani portion? Let’s just say it was the perfect size for a mouse, not for one person.
As for the South Indian meals, the salt must have taken a day off because the sambar and rasam were so bland, they redefined “authentic” into “barely there.” All this culinary magic for just ₹160 each—what a steal! Truly, a lunch experience we’ll never forget (or want to repeat).
