Good for the nostalgia.
I had heard about this old Burger King outlet that faced issues with the American brand and came out victorious. I may have passed many times from near it but never realised it being there at the corner. I came across it this time while I was waiting at the signal. Decided to park my bike at a nearby pay&park and came back to try it out. There was so much crowd that I couldn't figure out where to go. All tables were full with people eating burgers, fries, etc. and many more standing all around waiting for the tables to get vacant. There are at least 2 buildings - one of them also has a seating on the top floor but people were standing on each step of the staircase, so I simply walked through the crowd to a small building at the back of this building. I realised that there were people standing in queue at the counter to place their order, so I stood in the queue. There was a simple menu atop the counter which helped me decide what I wanted to order before I reached the counter person. The orders were being taken very efficiently and quickly as the machine allows you to see what is being ordered and also the price for the same. You can move aside while you make the payment via UPI etc. Once the order was placed I got the receipt with a order # and was asked to wait or sit in that area. There were 2-3 small rooms with 2-4 tables each and a seating area outside with multiple tables. I walked around all the tables to finally find a couple of vacant seats on one table in one of the rooms. I waited for 20+ minutes to finally have the waiter come shouting my order#. The burger was huge, with a couple of slices of onion between the thick buns and veggie patty along with cheese, nothing too fancy. Personally, I found each bite dry, although I could see everyone around me with liquid cheese drooling on their hands from their burger. There were some burgers that were cut in half (maybe jumbo chicken burgers), but my veg burger was a whole bun without it being cut in half. I am guessing the half-cut burgers would probably be easier to eat. I also realised why the order taker at the counter explicitly asked if I wanted to have any aerated drinks with my order. I had not taken any aerated drinks with my order but after a couple of bites of my burger I realised I should have ordered a drink to gulp on it and push the burger down the throat. I was alone so was impossible to go to the counter in the crowd and order a drink mid-way through my burger as could not leave the burger at the table. So, do order a drink with your burgers in advance. Each burger is huge and is very filling.
The atmosphere is just too crowded with people wating for chairs to get vacant always staring at people who are eating. Also many long tables with 6 seats mean you may be sitting with strangers.
I will probably go again atleast once to hopefully observe a different experience as will try a paneer burger and will go over a weekday instead...
Read moreWe went to this place given how popular it is, but after visiting we realised that while the place is good it is not a must visit place. They have ample seating in two floor plus an indoor and outdoor seating area just beside the main building, still there was not a single empty table and the wait time for a table to open up was far too long. The counter where you can order is in the main building's 1st floor. Due to the huge crowd the staff is also super busy and have no time to give you any information, instruction or advise. You are basically left to your own devices to figure things out. The menu is small but pocket friendly. The quantity of food is worth the money but the taste sadly does not live up to the hype. It was just satisfactory. And the sauce they add in the burger felt out of place, it did not match the flavour profile of the burger at all. On top of this the shop is surrounded by one way roads and there is no parking space anywhere near the shop. You have to circle around the shop to reach the entrance because of the one way traffic. And most people have to park their bikes and vehicles in no parking zone. Please be aware that police frequently patrols the area and picks up bikes from no parking. You will have to pay hefty fine if your bike gets picked by police. We had to pay about 780 rupees for 1 bike and while they were picking the bike up the front number plate also got bent due to collision. We went to the first floor of the main building and ordered chicken burger takeaway. No instruction was given as to when or where we will get the order. We waited blindly in the ground floor for a long time after which we asked a waiter and got to know that we will have to go to the takeaway counter for our order. He gave some half baked info and we had to figure out the rest. Finally, we understood that there is a small passage between the main building and the seating area beside it. That is the space where people with takeaway orders need to wait. Your bill has a number and when that number is called you go and collect your food. There are two take away counters at two ends of this passage and you have no clue where your order will come. You will have to be alert at all times. They did not provide any ketchup or any other kind of condiments or any napkins, tissue etc. with the take out order. When I consider all the aforementioned pain points I strongly feel like the place is not worth it. It's not meant for people who travel and visit camp just for this burger. I would advise you to rather skip it and make room in your itenary for other popular...
Read moreA Budget-Friendly Burger Haven with a Few Challenges
If you're a burger lover looking for affordable yet delicious options, this restaurant is a must-visit. Located in the heart of the city's bustling market area, the place is well-known for its variety of burgers, including Aaloo Patty, Paneer, Chicken, and Beef. Due to its pocket-friendly pricing and generous portions, the restaurant attracts a massive crowd, making it a go-to spot for both locals and visitors alike.
Food Quality & Pricing – A Delightful Experience
During our visit, we decided to try their Paneer Burger, and it did not disappoint. The mini burger was priced at just ₹84, while the jumbo version was available for ₹105, making it one of the most affordable and value-for-money burgers in town. The paneer patty was well-seasoned, crispy on the outside, and soft inside, paired with delicious sauce.
Given the pricing, the quality and quantity exceeded expectations. For its taste and affordability, the food deserves a solid 4/5 rating.
Challenges – The Waiting Game & Seating Issues
One of the biggest drawbacks of this restaurant is the long queue for billing. The system requires customers to first pay at the counter before they can place their order, leading to significant waiting times during peak hours. This can be frustrating, especially if you're in a hurry or visiting with a group of friends.
Another major issue is the limited seating space. The restaurant is extremely popular, and due to its prime location in the market, it is always crowded. Finding a seat is a real challenge, and during rush hours, you may have to wait or even stand while eating. If you're planning to dine in, be prepared to arrive early or wait for a spot.
The restaurant’s location in the city's market area makes it easily accessible to people shopping or exploring the area. However, the lack of dedicated parking space is a serious concern. Since there is no designated parking, we had to park on the roadside, which unfortunately led to our vehicle being towed by the traffic police. This can be a huge inconvenience for customers driving to the restaurant, so it’s advisable to find a legal parking spot a little farther away to avoid such troubles.
Overall, This restaurant is a great place for budget-friendly and tasty burgers, but long queues, seating issues, and parking problems can take away from the overall experience.
