Curry Nirvana - Viman Nagar — Restaurant in Pune

Visited Curry Nirvana today with my son and had one of the most delightful culinary experiences in a long time!

We were warmly welcomed with an on-the-house serving of Assam and a delicious basket of crispy masala aplam – the perfect start to our meal.

What stood out next was their bite-sized tasting platter – a truly unique concept! Each curry was served in adorable mini katoris with two spoons worth of taste – enough to sample the entire menu in one go. Beautifully presented and thoughtfully explained by our phenomenal server, who also recommended the best curry-rice combinations.

We finally ordered the appams — super fresh and served straight off the griddle in a set of 2. Paired them with the Railway Curry, which was simply outstanding. A vibrant orange curry with a creamy coconut base, slivers of onion, and soft, lightly fried paneer that melted in the mouth — it went perfectly with the Appams!

To top it all off, they surprised us with cutely plated Elaichi bananas along with the bill – a lovely nod to South Indian tradition that made us smile.

The food is flavorful, very reasonably priced, and the ambience is absolutely charming — warm, cozy, and full of thoughtful little touches. The menu still has so much we want to try, so we’re definitely going back soon.

Most of the people may be under the impression that all south indian cuisines taste the same. But that's not the case.... In my food endeavour I was happy-hit by another brilliant restaurant that served authentic Tamilian cuisine - 'Curry Nirvana' Curry Nirvana is a small restaurant in Viman Nagar that serves 'PeeYuur' love through their lip-smacking dishes and super welcoming staff! They firstly introduce you to their gravy bases, ingredients used and types of rice offered. We ordered a Chicken Maharani Cutlet which was perfectly spiced and moist, paneer pepper fry which was decent to start with. For the main course we ordered vegetable korma with appam and chicken ghee roast with kerala parothas. All dishes were cooked freshly and to perfection. The seating, ambience both are very comfortable and cozy. Mr. Rajnish was very kind enough to guide us through the menu and ensured that we had a hearty meal. The pricing is also decent and not at all heavy on the pocket. It was a 10/10 dining experience!

Going by the name the only thing that seemed like a foreignner was the Kerala Parotha.😂 But jokes apart, it was the most flaky and soft kerala parotha I have ever tasted. Superb!

Absolutely loved my visit to Curry Nirvana in Viman Nagar! If you’re looking for authentic South Indian flavors, this place exceeds expectations. The menu features a vibrant spread, going well beyond the usual idli, dosa, and sambar, with multiple curry options that each tell their own story. I especially loved the sampler menu where you can taste and choose your preferred curries and meat/veggies before ordering—such a unique and customer-friendly concept.

The food was fresh, portions generous, and presentation impressive. The combo was flavorful, and meat curries like chicken and mutton were spot-on with rich Tamil spices. Service stood out—staff were extremely courteous and attentive, making sure we were comfortable throughout our meal. The ambiance is clean and inviting, perfect for both families and groups.

Location is easy to find in Clover Park on a corner, and prices feel very reasonable considering the quality and quantity. Dining here was a pure bliss, and I’d highly recommend Curry Nirvana to anyone craving soulful South Indian...
