Signature Fine Dine - Autograph Please
It is said that the mark of a great person is soaring to great heights while remaining firmly grounded on earth. The same can be said about any restaurant as well. In fact, some of the most legendary restaurants still remain true to their roots.
One such classic example of this, is the Signature restaurant which started operations in Kondhwa with modest beginnings and has now launched their second outlet at Viman Nagar in a fine-dine avatar.
The restaurant is quite spacious, with three seating sections to choose from. The indoor section is quite plush while the outdoor section provides a more open-to-air ambiance. The upstairs section is still not open to public as final touches were still being made to it.
Recently, Signature held a blogger’s table and I was honored with an invite to the same.
From the cocktails section, I tried the Old Fashioned, sugar-free variant. A very well-made cocktail which once again hit the bull’s eye of taste without the sweetness of sugar.
Starters The Veg. Konjenaro is quite like the Veg. Crispy in appearance but is made with baby corn and a different sauce which imparted a wonderful flavor to the dish. The Jalapeno Poppers too had a nice crunchy exterior but lacked the punch of the chili.
The Chicken Kalonji Kebab had tender, juicy chicken chunks, with a lovely smokiness and slight bitter aftertaste of the char. #YumYum
On the other hand, the Mutton Seekh Kebab was quite heavy handed on the ginger and unfortunately a bit dry.
Chicken Hunan packed some good flavors and the Prawns Tawa (Mangalore style) too had a lovely masala but the prawns themselves felt a tad under. A couple of minutes more on the heat and they would’ve been perfect.
Mains The mains we tried, were a good balance of meat and veg dishes for everyone and the presentation were on point.
The Chicken Shabnami and the Chicken Mangalorean Curry tasted good however the lamb used in the Mutton Rara Masala tasted funny.
Veg. Gassi and the Veg. Pepperoni were decent dishes taste-wise but nothing outstanding. Also, couldn’t fathom the inspiration behind the nomenclature.
Thankfully the Chicken Biryani was bang-on. Juicy chicken chunks in aromatic biryani rice and the correct proportion of masala to the rice. #DeliciousDelicious
Signature Fine Dine strives to continue their legacy so well entrenched in the Punekar’s psyche thanks to their legendary outlet in Kondhwa. The more comfortable seating and ambiance will certainly help in attracting the urbane crowd of...
Read moreThe prices for the drinks and food is already high compared to other dining restaurants upon which there are few waiters who are scamming customers by saying that there are discounts and offers by which anyone gets influenced easily and hence they make sales for some or the other unknown brands of beers. I use to be a regular customer here and always prefer what i take always but yesterday due to rush i was made to sit outside in the garden area which i usually avoid however got convinced and there these unknown waiter scammed me(not the one who serves me everytime) by giving me some other beer which i don't prefer still he sold it to me by saying it has discount. I didn't see the price since i believed him and what i take regularly is of less price and stong than what he asked me to have(mild one). If a customer is regular one and he/she will have whatever they use to have regularly then what's the need to suggest someone? Just to make sales for some underrated brands as they get commissions for that and until and unless someone doesn't get any profit why would anyone it on my table. Finally when i had to pay the bill so i was paying it through Zomato on which waiter said the discount won't apply if used zomato to pay bill. Oh come on i have been paying from Zomato for all this time and now after all this you ask me that if want discount on what you told then i should not pay via Zomato. Why didn't you tell me this before? It's your job to give out full information about anything before you ask me to go for it though i didn't ask any suggestions from you however you didn't do that because you wanted to scam me! This ruthless behavior of the waiter made me realize that i will be doing mistake again if i continue coming here. Please do your job with honesty and don't trap customers for your own business. It's not only the question of money or prices here but also about false information and fake commitments which leads to dissatisfaction for any customer who is giving you business. Please respect everyone's efforts and stop scamming people...
Read moreWe friends met after long on Diwali night due to our busy schedules. Never been here before. Being the first time, thought the food would taste just like that other hotels.
We were wrong and let me me explain how. We first order starters - veg hara bara kebab, chicken malvani kabab and chicken Rosali kebab (I hope am spelling it right). Veg hara bara kebab - Crisp on the out and soft inside. Chicken malvani kebab - never really seen this dish before in other joints. Being a love of Malvani food, tandoored well in that mid spicy malvani masala, this was an absolute delight to my taste buds. The chicken melted in my mouth. Chicken Rosali kebab - Never tried this before as well, turned out pretty good. This is chicken kheema wrapped in chicken (Malvani kebab still tops)
For the main course we ordered paneer kofta, Chicken Manglorian curry and Chicken rogni. Some wheat rotis and jeera rice to accompany them.
I didn't try the veg as am a pure non veg foodie but my friends just digged into it. For Chicken Rogni it was tasty (didn't have much) Chicken Manglorian curry - Now this is one awesome dish. It had a right balance of the spicies and coconut flavour. Chicken was cooked well and delicate.
Also we had a few cold / hard drinks and gulab jamuns for desert.
Between 6 of us the cost shared was 600 per person. (Can defer Depending on the dishes you order) but I think with the amount of food we ate, drinks we had, this restaurant beats the budget crunch.
The staff was the best. Polite, quick, joyful. Not to forget the chef.
This dinner just made our long pending meet the best one ever.
Will definitely be...
