A Haven for South Indian Food and Tea Lovers!
I'm thrilled to have discovered Femous, a gem of a restaurant that serves authentic and mouth-watering South Indian cuisine. This place has become my go-to spot for a delicious and satisfying meal.
Food: The menu boasts an impressive array of traditional South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, and more. I've tried several items, and each one has been a flavor sensation. The dosas are crispy and golden, the idlis are fluffy and soft, and the vadas are crunchy and savory. The sambar and chutneys are made fresh in-house and add an extra layer of flavor to each dish.
Tea: Femous is also famous for its tea selection, and for good reason. Their tea menu features a variety of options, including masala chai, filter coffee, and herbal teas. The tea is brewed to perfection, and the flavors are rich and aromatic.
Ambiance: The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, with traditional South Indian decor and comfortable seating. The staff are friendly and attentive, making sure that every guest feels at home.
Service: The service at Femous is top-notch. The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and can make excellent recommendations. They're also happy to accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions.
Value: The prices at Femous are very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food and tea. It's a great value for the price, and I always feel like I'm getting a great deal.
Overall: Femous is a must-visit for anyone who loves South Indian food and tea. The food is delicious, the tea is exceptional, and the service is top-notch. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a authentic and satisfying dining experience.

Read moreNice and spacious place near Phoenix market place for low budget cravings. The place is spacious and does get crowded. They have a self-serving system for food and water. Two of us ordered a South Indian Meal and Paneer Manchurian. The quantity of items was good enough for the two of us even though we were super hungry. South Indian Thali had 1 Vada, Upma, Masala Dosa, 2 Idly. All the items were well cooked and I didn't notice any tempering with the quality (how most low budget restaurants degrade food quality usually). The dosa was thick and tasty. Vada was crunchy and not very oily. Upma and idly were also tasty. One important thing which I always keep in mind at south Indian food joints is the quality of sambar and chutney. No matter how good the food be but if sambar and chutney are not up to the mark I get very disappointed (usually I compare sambar and chutney taste with my home cooked recipes). To my surprise the quality was decent and I enjoyed the overall taste of thali. Paneer Manchurian's taste was how I expected at a typical south Indian food serving franchise. These franchises usually sell these items to attract more crowd along with the south Indian food lovers. So the quality of paneer was chewy and low quality. The taste was something different from how one would find in Indo-Chinese restaurants. Overall for the price the paneer quantity was decent and not very tasty. Also, I always get their filter coffee whenever I visit this place. This place serves very nice coffee. The taste is strong and less sugary. I would recommend their filter coffee. Final Verdict: Must try place for south Indian cravings on a low budget. Definitely try their filter coffee. I am giving four stars for food only because of the quality of their south Indian food and coffee. Food ** Ambience * Value...
Read moreI recently visited Sambar – Aromas of South in Viman Nagar, near Phoenix Market City.
Ambience and Setting:
The ambience was casual yet inviting, perfect for families, friends and professionals.
Service:
The service was quick, and the staff were courteous, even during peak hours.
We tried their classic rava onion masala dosa, which was absolutely delicious. The Mysore masala dosa and idli-vada-sambar (the sambar had that homely, tangy flavour you’d expect from a traditional South Indian kitchen) were decent. I enjoyed the kadak chai and their filter coffee, which was rich and strong.
Pricing:
The food was reasonably priced and hygienically prepared, which explained its popularity among locals.
Overall Experience:
Pros:
• The café maintained good cleanliness. • The service was fairly quick, even during busy hours (thanks to their open kitchen). • There were ample seating arrangements. • Clean washroom and wash-basin.
Cons:
• Not an air-conditioned café. • At times it becomes a bit noisy due to its proximity to the main road. • For those driving to the venue: valet parking wasn’t available, and since the road was usually crowded, finding parking was sometimes difficult.
Recommendation:
If you're craving authentic South Indian comfort food in Pune, Sambar – Aromas of South is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended for both quick bites and...
