𝗗𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗶 - 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗢𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 was on my wishlist from the moment it was operational. And what could be a better day than a nice chilled Sunday morning. So without a second thought we drove to Dossai to indulge into the Flavours Of South they have up their sleeve.
The place was jam packed which made sure our breakfast was going to be a delicious fare. After a wait of 15-20 minutes, we settled at the inner seating area and placed our order.
🔸 𝗥𝗮𝗴𝗶 𝗢𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝘀𝗮 🔸 𝗚𝗵𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗗𝗼𝘀𝗮 🔸 𝗚𝗵𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗱𝗶 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝘀𝗮 🔸 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗚𝗵𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗗𝗼𝘀𝗮 🔸 𝗚𝗵𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗱𝗶 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗜𝗱𝗹𝗶 🔸 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 🔸 𝗖𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝘀𝗮𝘀 - Nice and crisp on the outside and had a lovely glaze to it by a generous spread of Ghee.
The 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗚𝗵𝗲𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗗𝗼𝘀𝗮 is something which cannot be missed. Phenomenal preparation. Tiny bits of garlic roasted to perfection and mixed with the masala subzi. I don't think any other joint serves this kind of a filling. Exceptional.
𝗥𝗮𝗴𝗶 𝗢𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝘀𝗮 - This is a set of 2 Dosas. A gluten free grain with a rustic earthy flavour full of health. Absolutely delicious.
𝗚𝗵𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗱𝗶 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗜𝗱𝗹𝗶 - Super fluffy, super light with loads of ghee and molgapodi powder. Relished it to the core.
𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗿 & 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘆𝘀 - Different types of preparations at different restaurants. But this one stands out for its thick consistency, the tanginess balanced out with the level of spice. A perfect blend of flavours.
Also, the tomato red chilli chutney deserves a special mention. A delicious explosion of flavours. Loved it.
𝗖𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 - This one was good but could be even better. Cinnamon is a very tricky spice. It should enhance the taste by cutting the bitterness of coffee but it overpowered the coffee flavour.
All in all, it was a superb experience.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 | 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 | 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 | 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴
Everything under one roof. What else could you ask for? It's a package. So go and experience the 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗢𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 at 𝗗𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗶 and you won't regret it.
And as I always say...

Read moreAn amalgamation of the greatest hits, you could say, of simple South Indian food. Idlis, dosas, vadas, various rice dishes, kurma, stew and of course, filter coffee. Basics done right, supported by a very friendly staff and an enthusiastic Mr Anuj who is the frontman running the show.
Ghee Podi Tatte Idli - Really nice big idli with slightly sweet podi, loads of ghee and the classic trio or red, green chutney and sambar. I would have loved the idli to be a bit fluffier and lighter but really good taste wise.
Masala Mysore Dosa - Can't go wrong with this. The flavour was just spot on. Perfect balance of crispiness, spice and sourness heightened with the chutneys and delicious sambar. I would definitely tell them to make it even crispier next time.
Curd Rice - Classic comfort food no 1! Just perfect. Nothing else to say.
Bisi Bile Bath - Classic comfort food no 2! So spicious but without any "tikhat" or chilly hit. Just perfect.
Kesar Sheera - Again, just perfect. The ghee adding another level of comfort.
I tried the cinnamon filter coffee and black coffee, really good, perfect way to (for me) start and end the meal.
Basically this is a place that will just satisfy your South Indian food cravings. Some minor things here and there would make it pretty much perfect. Just classic comfort food. Loads of flavour, controlled spice, homely taste and just good...
