Origin Bistro — Restaurant in Pune

In short, the food was awesome, fresh and unique. Each dish quantity is sufficient for a person if alone. The deep dish pizza are strictly for 2 people or more. It seems small but is very heavy and has a inch of filling.

We ordered Pancakes, lasagne, tripple decker grilled cheese sandwich, Spinach panini, and deep dish pizza. We went as a group of 4 (very hungry adults with 2 children) with the intention to try something new and we were blown away by the taste.

Lasagne was one of the best we had ever had with the bread being just the right amount of crispness. Many other places either give bread that is more like toast or too soft to be enjoyed properly with lasagne. This was also the dish that both kids loved.

Spinach panini was also delicious with lots of mushroom and savoury sauces. You can choose between french fries and salad, and we chose salad which was lettuce and olives with sauces.

Tripple decker sandwich with french fries was the order placed specifically for the kids. But, we ended up eating most of it since it was so good. It's very filling, so your kid would probably have 2 cut piece at most leaving 2 more for you.

Both pancakes, blueberry and banana, were also good. However I am not a pancake fan so not much to say from me. My wife and other couple loved them with the blueberry sauce and honey being provided seperately so that you can have it as per your taste. Pancakes are more of an acquired taste so you can order 1 and then order more if you are not sure.

Also ordered was piri piri chicken omlette and moccha and latte. Both were awesome, but we too engrossed in enjoying our dishes that we forgot to take the pics 😁.

Special mention - omlette were with chicken filling and salad. That was one more unique way of having an omlette which I loved.

Overall, I have bookmarked this place and would love to visit whenever I need to have something unique.

The only improvement that I would recommend is to add a air cooler for the hot days. For morning, the fan is sufficient, but in May afternoon, you will...

ASPARAGUS AND SMOKED CHEESE OMELETTE (Tasted quite bland) ❌

MUSHROOM SPINACH FETA OMELETTE (Very nice full of flavours cooked to perfection) MUST HAVE if you like mushrooms ✅

Omelettes are served with baked beans, hash browns, grilled tomatoes and toast. A meal in itself

VEG LASAGNE : ✅ MUST HAVE (The flavour of the Tomato sauce,perfectly cooked veggies and lasagne sheets just make this dish unavoidable - YUMMMMM)

APPLE AND CARAMEL STUFFED FRENCH TOAST : ❌ (TOAST with apple slices dipped in caramel sauce served along with cream) Avoidable

CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT BANANA PANCAKES - ( Pancakes here were fluffy but slightly on the heavy side. All in all a good mix with the banana,nutella and honey)

HOT CHOCOLATE WITH MARSHMALLOW AND CARAMEL : ✅ MUST HAVE (The chocolate used was of great quality and it literally tasted more of chocolate and less of milk. Just perfect)

🚗Valet Parking: Not Available . Parking available in the lane after the restaraunt

🪑Seating / Ambience : Needs a huge improvement. Is quite dull and basic with only outdoor seating. The fans as well were not working when we went. In the summer can get really hot, winter is fine. Also there were a lot of flies there.

Origin Bistro: Delicious Food, Patience Required

Origin Bistro promises, and largely delivers, on flavor. We recently visited and sampled a few of their offerings, and the overwhelming takeaway was that the food is truly delicious – a real treat for the taste buds. We opted for a classic comfort food combination: French fries, a chicken deep dish pizza, and crumbed chicken with mashed potatoes.

Starting with the basics, the French fries were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. But the real stars of the show were the main courses. The chicken deep dish pizza was an absolute delight, with a generous helping of chicken and a flavorful, well-seasoned sauce. Similarly, the crumbed chicken was cooked to perfection, boasting a satisfying crunch and paired perfectly with creamy, comforting mashed potatoes. In short, every dish was a winner in terms of taste.

However, the experience wasn't without its shortcomings. Let's be frank, the ambiance is average. Don't come expecting a romantic or particularly stylish setting. It's a functional space, perfect for a casual meal, but not something to write home about.

The real sticking point, however, was the wait time. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, our pizza took almost 50 minutes to arrive after we ordered. While the deliciousness ultimately made up for the delay, it's a significant point to consider. If you're pressed for time, this probably isn't the place to grab a quick bite.
