Read the negative (1-star) reviews; they portray reality more accurately than the numerous positive ones. I am not sure if those giving positive reviews are friends or relatives of the hotel owner or if they are paid to do so (Or worse, people have a low bar these days for food quality, ambiance, and service). The ambiance only seems good when viewed from the outside (we fell for it too), but inside, it is congested like a dining hall. The food is average—nothing particularly good or bad. The chef doesn’t seem to know the difference between laccha paratha and wheat tandoori roti, as they were almost indistinguishable. Do not go for the hotel staff’s recommended special dish; they try to sell you the most expensive dish on the menu, which isn’t even as good as the one you choose yourself that costs less. They place a water bottle on the table and do not serve tap water unless you explicitly ask for it. They package in-house tap water in their own bottles and charge you for mineral water (Rs. 30) if you unknowingly drink from that bottle. By the time you notice the charge for water on the bill, it’s too late. When you confront the hotel staff about this trickery, they claim that it's a new practice in all hotels these days—not to offer tap water to patrons by default unless they specifically ask for it (or unless they don't fall for your trickery). You are better off sticking to other hotels like Abhishek or Girija in that area. Pathetic experience; I will never...
