Ever wondered about how an Italian themed bistro could look like in Kothrud? Yes/No?? Well, that's what La Sicilia depicts it to you. This cute little bistro near Jehangir Hospital lets you simmer in its Italian theme with wonderful ambience and a small beautiful garden outside. The bistro is decorated with frames depicting Italian streets with light Italian music playing in the background. Coming over to the food, I had SOFT CHILLI LEMONED CILANTRO FISH, FISH TAQUITOS and COCONUT CASTED PRAWNS in the appetizers, SPAGHETTI LAMB BOLOGNAISE and SICILIA FULL HOUSE PIZZA for the mains. And, to end with, I had an OREO-NUTELLA FREAKSHAKE, TIRAMISU and a BLUEBERRY PANA COTTA. . APPETIZERS - The first thing which I had here was the FISH TAQUITOS and I just went bonkers with it. Extremely delicate and soft fish fritters served on a thin and crisp bread (which was like a crispy chapati) and topped with ice-berg lettuce and their take on salsa. The fritters were so delicious and it all got kind of dissolved in your mouth with just one bite. The ice-berg lettuce ensured freshness in it and the salsa was just so amazing topped with curdish cream and coriander. As the name suggests, the SOFT CHILLI LEMONED CILANTRO FISH was marinated with chilli batter which wasn't too spicy and was mild and nice. It was garnished with garlic and paprika which enhanced its flavor and a slice of lime just went well with it. I was excited to try something new in prawns and so went with the COCONUT CASTED PRAWNS. I would like to say that it was the KHOBRA WADI (COCONUT BARFI) version of the prawns. I don't know if that's the original taste of it but I didn't like it. If you are into Khobra Wadi a lot, then this is the dish for you. The coconut crust(delicate) was overpowering the prawns. It had a charcoal infused taste to the outer crust. It was served with mango-jalapeno dip which was really good and gave the jalapeno flavor in a subtle way. The dip actually made the dish eatable for me. It was enclosed in a jar so that the charcoal flavor gets infused in it. The presentation of all the three dishes was top notch. . MAINS - The SICILIA FULL HOUSE pizza was thin crust and topped with bell peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, jalapenos, onions, mushrooms and I added some chicken to it as a side on. I usually don't like thin crust pizza but this was really delicious and was loaded with toppings. Had it been a thick crust, it could have been heavenly as it clearly had the flavors punched in it. The SPAGHETTI LAMB BOLGNAISE was so full of flavors. Add some pepper to it and it does wonders. The spaghetti was perfectly cooked and had a distinct flavor in itself. It wasn't soggy and had a light oily touch to it which went well for it. It was loaded with lamb kheema which was so delicious. It wasn't oily and it was one of the most delicious kheema I have had. It was topped with mint and cherry dices which went so well with it. A thick papad which was like a thin pita bread was topped over it and was garnished with sesame seeds also added a nice crust to it.
So, overall, the food served in this bistro is quite unique and delicious and they have maintained the Italian authenticity. The staff is really nice and I was overwhelmed with their hospitality. They have a kitchen which is open to the customers for viewing. Certain entities of the menu were very very amazing and the other had mild and nice flavors in it. This place should be a heaven for dessert lovers. Overall, the presentation and plating of each dish was simply amazing and we could feel that each dish is made with extreme care. So, if you are into Italian cuisine or want to try it, then this place in Kothrud is the place you should be visiting. The pricing is a little on the higher side but the experience here will be...

For, La Sicilia Bistro & Patisserie
After seeing their zomato rating and reviews I was excited to visit this place located on Paud Road. The ambience seems good, with soft music being played inside. The seating area ain't huge I think could accommodate about about 40 people at a time.
We were 4 friends visiting this place for dinner and the problem started when they made us stand for 15 mins, inspite of 2 tables which would accommodate 6 ppl each being vacant. Later they gave us the same table. The table which we got was just near to their open kitchen and we wanted to get it changed to avoid the kitchen smell but they dint allow us to do so. And we continued our dinner experience with all mixed aromas 😂
Service was quick but the servers weren't very much aware of the menu or may be I lacked some knowledge about #Italian #mexican food. The lady was unable to understand what I was trying to say and vice-versa. The menu is pretty short with little options to choose from. The portions served are small as compared to the price. With all the confusion in selection of pasta and the sauce we ordered below items-
#Ravioli of Artichoke pasta, this wasn't a pasta for me, they should call it a dumpling or momos. The lady explained to us that this will have 6 pieces and will be served in white sauce so I assumed 6 pieces of ravioli in a river full of white pasta. But, it turned out to be ravioli shaped pasta served over literally spoonful of white thick sauce. It was little brackish too. Did not enjoy it at all. As this was the first thing we ordered and we didn't like it much, rest dinner was ruined too. Price : Rs. 369, not worth at all
#Sicilia full house pizza and #Classic Margherita pizza, the 1st one was suggested by the server lady. Both the pizzas were good in taste and loaded with cheese. But the base was thin as papad. I couldn't feel the base. Didnot enjoy the base. Price : Rs. 359 / 349, pricing seemed OK for the 1st pizza, Margherita is over priced as per me.
#Penne Alfredo Pasta, we requested them to serve this in Pink sauce but it was more on red side 😭 their menu claimed to server it with roasted veggies, which according to me were not evidently visible on our day of visit. This one was nice but would have enjoyed it more if it was served in pink sauce as requested and not in red sauce. Rs. 349, portion too small for the costing.
#Cheese Garlic Bread, this is the only thing we loved and enjoyed over the visit. The bread was soft and it was delicious. Price : Rs. 195, they are serving only 4 pieces in one portion so I think again the pricing is a bit high as compared to the portion.
