Yet another wonderful little café to be discovered in Pune -- not only by coffee lovers but also those looking for a quiet space to study, work on their computer, or hang out with friends and be able to carry on conversation without intrusive music. It would also appeal to those with a love of nature and appreciation of delightful little artistic and inspirational touches in the ambience.
For me, Leafy Trails was the perfect answer to a question I had a few days ago: "Where can I escape to concentrate on a project without being disturbed?" I wanted a coffee shop but not something like Starbucks. Desperately I searched on Google Maps for "quiet cafés Pune." Soon Leafy Trails caught my attention. I am indebted to my fellow Maps reviewers!
Coming up the stairs to the sunny open front room, I was warmly greeted by Rewati, who I later found was the owner as well as the café's imaginative designer and decorator. When she learned why I'd come to Leafy Trails, she took me to one of the inner rooms where I could plug in for the day. And there I "parked" for many hours, working just as I'd hoped, able to think out all the many-faceted pieces of my project and watch them fall into place almost magically.
Even though other customers came and went -- and some played games or collaborated on their own projects -- I could keep my focus. It was a joy. I sensed that it had something to do with the underlying energy of the place. This I found to be true when I asked Rewati who was behind Leafy Trails and how it had come about. She explained that she'd created it because she saw a great need for people to have quiet space to study or meet. In fact, she confessed, she doesn't want to expand her menu choices because she wants people to come primarily for the space and not the food!
About the menu, though... I was quite pleased. The coffee was great, although served in a plastic cup (in such a décor-loaded place like this, I'd have expected something classier). A veg wrap was tasty, though a bit small. The lemon mint drink was delicious. I couldn't believe the amazingly low prices!
Aside from the plastic cup and the washroom that leaves a few things to be desired, I wish I could give Leafy Trails more stars than just 5. It's so rare to find a place oriented to customers with such...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Cafe Leafy Trails in Erandwane with a group of friends, and it proved to be an unexpected treasure. Tucked away in a converted bungalow, this homely book and art cafe offers a delightful escape from the bustling city.
The interior decor of Cafe Leafy Trails is simply superb. As you step inside, you're greeted by a cozy and inviting atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. There are two seating arrangement options...low height tables and mats (bhartiye baithak) and the usual tables and chairs. The highlight of Cafe Leafy Trails is undoubtedly its collection of books and indoor games. With a wide range of books and various games such as chess, carrom, and board games, you'll never find a dull moment here. It's an ideal spot for college students seeking a study session or a fun hangout with friends, as well as for those who want to collaborate and work in a tranquil environment.
The cafe operates on an hourly charge of Rs.30. However, it's important to note that these charges are not redeemable through food or drinks; they are separate expenses. The freshly prepared food at Cafe Leafy Trails deserves a special mention. During our visit, we tried the peri peri fries, tea, bread butter, veg maggi, and butter toast. Among these, the peri peri fries were an absolute standout, bursting with flavor and spice. I would highly recommend giving them a try.
While the cafe's parking space is somewhat limited, it's a minor inconvenience compared to the overall experience offered. The friendly and attentive staff at Cafe Leafy Trails further enhance the welcoming atmosphere. Clean and well-mainted washroom is a added convenience.
To summarize, Cafe Leafy Trails is a wonderful place to hang out and unwind, be it for a study session, a casual gathering with friends, or even a cozy date. The aesthetic and creative ambiance, combined with the diverse selection of books and indoor games, sets the stage for a memorable experience. I highly recommend paying a visit to Cafe Leafy Trails and immersing yourself in its charming...
Read moreThis was one of the very first book/art cafes in the city that I had visited. My first visit here was about 3 years ago. This, in my opinion, is the perfect place to hang out with your friends. It is located in a pretty quiet area, which is personally very appealing for me. Secondly, the decor of this place, as you might see from the images, is very minimalistic, artsy and bright. They have added some motivational and fin quotes on the walls as well - it really livens up the place.
The staff here is very polite and welcoming, they have a pretty decent selection of food and drinks, and if you ask nicely with a smile, the owner would let you substitute the water with soda in their Lemon and Mint drink. đ. The thing about the food here - it is by no means classy or over the top exotic. It is just simple dishes prepared well and served with a smile! Definitely my type of place.
Since this is a books and art cafe, they do conduct small art workshops now and then. They have a fairly good book collection, or you can bring your own and read here in peace. They do charge you a nominal amount (per hour per person) for sitting here, but you can hang out for as long as you want.
Definitely planning to visit...
