Santosh Bakery in Shivaji Nagar is a classic gem that has been serving Pune for decades, and my visit there was nothing short of delightful. Known for its legendary baked goods, this place lives up to its reputation with fresh, flavorful treats that transport you back to the nostalgia of old-school bakeries.

One of the highlights of my visit was their patties, which were absolutely delicious. The crisp, golden-brown puff pastry was flaky and perfectly baked, while the filling was flavorful and well-seasoned. The balance of spices and texture made it one of the best patties I’ve had in Pune. Whether you prefer a classic veg filling or something spicier, they have options that cater to all tastes.

Another item that stood out was their coconut cake. I wasn’t expecting much, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The cake was soft, moist, and had just the right amount of coconut flavor—neither too overpowering nor too subtle. It paired beautifully with a cup of chai, making for a perfect evening snack. It reminded me of the simple yet satisfying cakes that are hard to find these days.

Santosh Bakery also offers a wide variety of other baked items, including cookies, puffs, and biscuits. The place has an old-school charm, with a no-frills ambiance that focuses purely on quality. The prices are reasonable, making it an excellent spot for anyone craving freshly baked goods without burning a hole in their pocket.

Overall, I’d definitely recommend Santosh Bakery to anyone who appreciates good, simple, and flavorful baked treats. Their patties and coconut cake alone are worth the visit, and I’ll surely be coming back to try more...

Note: Not all items are eggless. So please confirm with the attendant if you are pure vegetarian. This review is based on the items I got to taste. Patties - Could not try as they were out of stock. Took coconut cake, cream rolls and coconut cookies as take away. Coconut cake - I have had better cakes in much less famous bakeries and at lesser price. So nothing out of world experience here. Average taste. Cream roll - The cream rolls given packed in paper bags were not crispy at all. They had gone soft and soggy may be due to the monsoon weather. But a bakery of this calibre should have this in check given their popularity. So not happy at all. Yet the cream content and size of the roll were good. Coconut cookies - Again the same story here. Soft and soggy. Not crispy at all. Tastewise they were OK. Maida content is more than needed. I have had much better cookies at local weekly farmer's market. Overall I would skip all the above the next time I visit this place. Only patties remains. Price is also not that reasonable. Wonder how Google has summarized that. Coconut cookies cost 180/dozen! 15/piece not even the size of your palm! Cream roll - 20/piece Coconut cake - 30/piece Will update this review once I get lucky enough. A simple suggestion is why don't they prepare more of pattice which are best selling than making the...

A must visit for Khobra cake, you can avoid pattice if you dont like oily food. A small bakery in Pune which has lot of hype. After reading many reviews and seeing lot of Youtube videos which say you must try Pattice and khobra cake, my wife and I tried this place on Sunday morning. We reached there at around 9.30 am, there was no queue but there were people who had parked their bikes/cars on the road and were eating pattice. While I was ordering, there were multiple people who took parcel as well. No doubt this place is pretty famous in Pune. Now coming to their pattice, I found it bit oily. I had 2 pattice and they did taste of Dalda and were super oily. I do not recommend this. Price - 20 Rs. and size was small but potato filling was adequate and not like other bakeries where there is very less sabji inside the pattice. Khobra Cake - must try. The best khobra cake I have ever had. My wife also liked it and we actually got 2 cakes parcel to eat at home. We also got their khari and toast parcel. Service is fast.

After successful completion of the food hunting plan of Pastry corner, next weekend we decided to visit the well known bakery which mostly everyone might have heard of the "Santosh Bakery" to have/eat their famous pattice and the coconut cake. The bakery was established all the way back in 1968 (i must say old is gold 🥇). They serve delicious mouth watering 🤤 pattice & coconut cake 😋 in pocket friendly range and they even provide much more things which you can takeaway or eat right there. This place is a bit crowded, and they don't have any seating arrangement, but you can enjoy your snacks even by standing on the road side. Last but not the least they charge for the tomato ketchup sachet which is something rare 😅. If you love 😍 bakery products then you must visit this place.
