If you're craving delicious, authentic North Indian food in Pune, Shahji's Parantha House on Laxmi Road is the perfect place! I recently visited and had an amazing experience that I must share.
Food: The menu is packed with a variety of stuffed parathas, Amritsari naan, chaats, and thalis, all made with authentic flavors. I ordered the Chur Chur Amritsari Naan Thali, and it was absolutely fantastic! The naan was crispy on the outside, soft inside, and loaded with flavors. The thali came with Dal Makhani, Chole, Boondi Raita, and salad, all of which were perfectly spiced and complemented each other well.
Another highlight was their Dahi Bhalla Papdi Chaat—it was fresh, flavorful, and had the right balance of sweetness and tanginess. If you love North Indian food, you must try their Lassi as well; it’s thick, creamy, and refreshing!
Ambiance & Hygiene: The restaurant has a simple yet cozy ambiance, perfect for a casual dining experience. It’s a small place, so it can get crowded, especially during peak hours. However, the cleanliness and hygiene standards are well-maintained, and the staff ensures a comfortable experience for diners.
Service: The service was quick and efficient, even though the place was busy. The staff is friendly, polite, and always ready to assist with recommendations. They serve the food fresh and hot, which adds to the overall experience.
Location & Accessibility: Parking: Since the restaurant is located in a bustling market area, parking can be a challenge, especially for four-wheelers. I’d recommend using a two-wheeler or public transport if possible.
Overall Experience:
Delicious & authentic North Indian food Great variety of stuffed parathas & chaats Fast service & polite staff Good portion sizes at reasonable prices

Food: The star of the menu is, undoubtedly, the parathas. Shahji's offers an extensive variety, each one more tempting than the last. I tried the Aloo Paratha and the Paneer Paratha, both of which were cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside and filled generously with flavorful stuffing. The parathas are served with a side of tangy pickles, cooling yogurt, and a dollop of butter, adding to the authenticity of the experience.
Must-Try: Lassi One item that simply cannot be missed at Shahji's is the lassi. This traditional yogurt-based drink is served in a large glass, thick and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. It's refreshing and the perfect complement to the rich parathas. The lassi is so good that it can be a reason in itself to visit Shahji's Paratha House.

During our visit, we tried the chur chur naan thali and the Dilliwala paratha, both of which were delicious and packed with authentic flavors. We also ordered the masala chhas served in a traditional lota, which was refreshing, and the Dahi Bhalla, which was equally delightful. The dal khichadi was another highlight, rich in taste and perfectly cooked. The mix pickle and full chili pickle provided on the table added an extra zing to the meal.
