Trooh is a newly opened restaurant in Kalyani Nagar.
I came across Trooh on Instagram. The glowing reviews and the photos online convinced me.
The videos I saw online described Trooh as a Bali-themed restaurant. However, to me, it resembled a desert theme. The colour scheme, the plants, and the wall patterns made me think of Egypt.
Maybe I am wrong, and the restaurant is Bali-themed. Well, it's a matter of perspective.
But that doesn't matter. What's important is that the interiors are stunning.
The sandy-coloured shores are modern and trendy. It has a warm and welcoming vibe.
They have indoor and outdoor seating.
Their indoor seating is suitable for day and night, whereas the outdoor is best for evenings.
Trooh is the place for a girls' luncheon, catching up on gossip with your cousins or for a date night.
Besides lovely interiors, they have a well-mannered and polite staff. The service was quick, and the waiting staff was patient.
I wanted to take photos of the dishes for my blog. The server patiently waited until I was satisfied with my photos. When the second dish arrived, the server, once again, waited without me telling them.
Small things like these make the experience pleasant, extra points for that.
Another reason Trooh is on my list of must-visit cafes in Pune is the food.
I had their chicken tikka, a thin-crust pizza and the Karage chicken with sesame podi and chilli honey.
The chicken tikka was juicy and soft, but my favourite was the honey-glazed chicken with sesame seeds. The pizza was okayish, but their sushi looked appealing. Try that instead.
Lastly, don't forget to try their Shahi Tukda sprinkled with frozen rose petals on top.
The food was delicious, the interiors were gorgeous, and the staff and service were top-notch. I had a great time.

Visited this place recently, and unfortunately, it was a huge letdown on multiple fronts. Being someone who’s dined at several well-known places across Pune, Bangalore, and even internationally, I had certain basic expectations—but TROOH completely missed the mark.
First, the staff's attitude was unnecessarily rigid and awkward. I was in the middle of a conversation and happened to place my wine glass on the table (not the placemat), and the waiter immediately interrupted to instruct me to move it. This kind of nitpicking might be expected at a luxury hotel like the Taj, but not at a mid-tier restaurant in Pune that primarily caters to the working IT crowd. Let's be real.
Second, the food was absolutely underwhelming—far from "soulful indulgence." No one was attentive enough to serve properly, and yet, I wouldn’t be surprised if service charges magically show up on the bill.
The staff were constantly circling our table, not to help, but just loitering around in a way that felt intrusive and uncomfortable.
Frankly, it felt like the staff assumed we didn’t "belong" there—which is ironic considering places like Toit or Elephant & Co. in Kalyani Nagar offer far better experiences without the pretentiousness.
I’ve enjoyed fine dining in many international location, where true hospitality is about warmth and elegance—not enforcing random rules with a cold attitude. TROOH has a long way to go if it wants to match even basic standards of professionalism.
Would not recommend. Save your time and money and...
Read moreI visited this restaurant yesterday. The place looks really beautiful very aesthetic and perfect for taking pictures. The vibe is great, and it’s definitely a spot where you’d want to click a lot of photos.
But sadly, the food was a big letdown.
We ordered the veg loaded pizza, which was supposed to be full of vegetables. Instead, we just got a few pieces of capsicum and corn. When we asked about it, they added a tiny bit of broccoli on each slice, but it still didn’t feel “loaded” at all.
Next, we had the hummus, and it was very strange super frothy and didn’t taste good. Probably the worst hummus I’ve had.
We also ordered the gochujang rice, but the sauce didn’t taste anything like gochujang. It was extremely oily and tasted more like a mix of vinegar and soy sauce. Really disappointing.
The drinks were okay nothing special.
And for the price ₹650 for that pizza ,it didn’t feel worth it at all. Our total bill came to around ₹4000 for just a few items, and the food didn’t match up to the price.
Also, I’m attaching a photo to show how dirty things were. It honestly looks like they haven’t cleaned their ovens since they opened my hands were all black after eating the pizza.
Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. The place looks great, but the food and hygiene really need a lot of improvement. I wouldn’t go...
