Venkys. A name that is synonymous with frozen chicken products. A brand that is well known in every non-vegetarian household, a name that is recommended as de facto for any packaged chicken and egg purchases.

Venkys was already omnipresent across the city with outlets offering pre-packaged, frozen products on sale across their LoBs – Freezer to Fryer, Freezer to Microwave and Cold Cuts; however recently they have expanded their presence by establishing restaurants, termed Venkys Xprs, in different pockets of the city, a place where you can not only shop for your favorite frozen chicken but also have a fun meal with friends or family.

Venkys Xprs also offers the convenience to their customers of frying their “freezer to fryer” products for immediate consumption – at no extra cost.

I recently visited their Bavdhan outlet upon invite and I was visibly impressed by the entire setup. Ample space outside for parking your vehicles and a security guard who cheerfully guides you in parking. Enter inside and you are hit by the spaciousness of it all. Clever use of white theme creates a lot of positive space. The place can easily accommodate 15-20 covers at a time. The white tables and red chairs go well with the theme as well as branding of the place.

Having recently introduced some additional dishes in their repertoire in the “Freezer to Microwave” category, we settled in for a meat-lovers hog fest.

Tried the Chicken Malai Tikka, Chicken Tandoori Tikka, Chicken Haryali Tikka and Chicken Achari Tikka. Retaining near-perfect flavors of the dishes, it would be hard to believe these were warmed up in the microwave for a few minutes instead of being freshly made in the kitchen. Served with classic mayo, garlic mayo, mint mayo and pepper mayo respectively, the dips were a perfect pairing with the individual tikkas, to enhance the flavor profiles. The thought process of pairing different dips based on the flavors, is all the more impressive considering the fact that the tikkas are of the “heat and eat” category. #DeliciousDelicious

All tikkas are priced at Rs. 100 for 3-pcs and Rs. 190 for 6-pcs.

We also tried their Butter Chicken Dhaba Style with Malabari Parotta and Mom’s Biryani, both priced at MRP. Being of the same “Freezer to Microwave” category, it took them less than 5 minutes to heat up the packaged dishes and get them on our table.

The Dhaba Style Butter Chicken had the typical flavors of the authentic preparations in a rich, creamy gravy which paired well with the crispy and flaky Malabari Parotta. Absolutely the showstopper of the tasting. #HighlyRecommended

The Mom's Biryani, on the other hand, was full of subtle flavors and oodles of ghee. The spiciness was on the lower end which makes it an apt choice for kids and those with a low tolerance of spice. They also have a more masaledar biryani on the menu which promises to satiate one’s flavor...

Venky's - A brand which is known for their frozen chicken products.... They have around 14 outlets in Pune serving delicious ready-to-eat chicken products. Recently I visited their Bavdhan Outlet which is a decent place which can accommodate around 20 people at a time. You will find ample space for parking outside the outlet. The staff will greet you and will help you by suggesting their signature chicken delicacies.

As being a hardcore non-vegetarian, this place was perfect for me.... We ordered following food items from the menu :

Murg Malai Tikka Boneless juicy chicken pieces dipped in cream cheese(malai) and grilled with indian spices... The taste is pretty good, and it will melt in your mouth for sure.... These tikka are served with dip of classic mayonnaise.

Chicken Hariyali Tikka Chicken pieces rubbed with thick paste of mint, cilantro and some unique flavour gives you a different taste... The texture of Hariyali tikka is green due to cilantro and it is served with mint mayonnaise.

Chicken Achari Tikka One of the best chicken tikka I have tasted so far.... A blend of achari masala (indian pickle masala or indian pickle spices) applied to chicken pieces. These tikka are served with pepper mayonnaise. These desi tikkas will make your crave for more and more.... #recommended

Chicken Tandoori Tikka When it comes to tikka, Tandoori Tikka is the king of all tikkas... Juicy chicken pieces marinated in yogurt and spices and then grilled. These tikka are served with garlic mayonnaise. #recommended

You can get any tikka - 3 pieces for Rs. 100 and 6 pieces for Rs. 190.

Butter Chicken with Malabari Parotta I am a big fan of butter chicken and yes this place didn't disappoint me... The taste of desi dhabha style butter chicken with soft chicken pieces served with malabari parotta (layered parotta). malabari parotta costs Rs.30 for two no's. This is must try.... #recommended

Mom's Biryani A biryani prepared with delicious homemade spices and decent amount of ghee.... It is less spicy yet decent one.... If you want to opt for spicy biryani go with Mughlai chicken biryani.

Choco Lava Cake The molten chocolate cake is the perfect end to delicious chicken meal.

They have "freezer to microwave" packets - which are partially ready to eat food, which needs to be microwaved. These contains - all varieties of tikka, chicken spicy fingers, chicken sausages, chicken meat balls, chicken nuggets, chicken samosa, Mom's biryani, Mughlai chicken biryani etc.

"Venky's Chicken in minutes " is the tagline I have grown up hearing to. Over the years they have evolved and have brought in so much of variety to devour that you are always spoilt for choice. I recently visited their Bavdhan outlet which is the biggest amongst all others with the advantage of having a parking space and ample place to sit comfortably.

Here is what we tried -

STARTERS Murg Malai Tikkas -These easy to make tikkas , can either be relished at the outlet itself or can be carried home n served on plate in no time. With all the perfect marination these flavourful tikkas are a bit on the milder side and can be eaten by all.

Tandoori Tikkas - The flavours of tandoor make these succulent chicken tikkas absolutely mouth watering .

Chicken Hariyali Tikkas -The predominant taste of coriander gives these tikkas an exceptionally brilliant flavour. Again , not so spicy and good to eat.

Chicken Achari Tikkas - The authentic achari flavours give a twist to these tikkas and are highly recommended. The best I have ever had .

MAINS -

Butter chicken with Paratha - This dhaba style butter chicken was a completely lip smacking delicacy served with parathas . Its quick and easy to cook and tastes mindblowing.

Mom's Chicken Biryani - Homemade like, chicken biryani that went so well with the flavours of pure ghee and spices that I just couldn't stop hogging. This is definitely a not to be missed delicacy.

I always love the way Venky's has excelled in with respect to hygeine , taste , customer satisfaction and much more . They have made it easy for us to cook the most palatable dishes in no time and without any hassle. This outlet is an epitome of the same and has so much more to offer than what I mentioned above.
