Let me first make one thing clear.... The Chunda Palace is a marvelous property with its own rich heritage.... The view from the property takes you to another level... But now lets talk about restaurant.... Firstly at 4 Star Hotel's Restaurant I was treated to a wobbly table, Then was given a plate that showcased their hygiene standard as mine was higher than there's i demanded a more cleaner plate.... We went there for a family celebration (16 Pax) & no need to say the view got our hopes high & food made that hope to jump from there to die... We ordered Kadhai Paneer, Dal Fry, Bundi Raita, Papad & Bread Basket.... After the pathetic setting I was greeted with Bundi Raita that went sour more than it was suppose to be.... The management unwillingly changed that, which came after the main course was over.... The Paneer was half cooked, the gravy was not up to the mark & for the first time ever I got to hear that a 4 star restaurant was out of fresh dal bowls so they got us soup bowl to put dal fry in it..... Bread at this point of time didn't matter most but they were at least better than the rest of food.... Attitude of waiters is not upto the mark maybe because we were locals & were not staying at their hotel....
Final Verdict
Ambiance- Marvelous
Food- Bad
Service-Worse
Value- Take a coffee & enjoy...

We were staying at the hotel and had 2 dinner there, food experience was good both day but service was different,on roof top restaurant service was somewhere disappointing, something between bad and ok but next day at 5th floor restaurant it was excellent. On roof top no one was there to greet ,after 5 min someone arrived, then wait for 10 min to be seated as it was busy, thats ok but even after seating everything was mismanaged, service was slow. Next day had dinner at indoor restaurant and it was excellent, from welcome to exit, everything was good. First day we had Laal maans, murg ke shule with roti,no complain about food. Next day Dal Baati and Chicken bhuna ,Daal bati was excellent with flavorful daal, churma and served with ghee and garlic chutney. Few may find price little expensive but I found the price ok with Udaipur standard, being a super touristy city ,restaurant price at Udaipur is...
Read moreI visited the restaurant for a recommendation. It was my birthday dinner. The food was mediocre and super spicy. I did order dishes that didn’t supposed to be hot. The service was the worst ever during my stay in India. Staff that didn’t understand a word of English. I had to ask 3 times to have a bottle of wine which arrived at the end of my meal. Even the naan bread arrived at the end of my food. Appalling. I received 2 of my dishes and my companion non of what he order. The water arrived after the beer. The restaurant itself it just the roof top, cero decor just some tables and chairs on the roof. It was a very unpleasant experience. The lavish hotel lobby doesn’t match with the service and the food. Not worth the trip. Please avoid. My recommendation? Train your staff and chefs. A basic pasta dish was overcooked and over spiced. Definitely a place not to recommend to anyone....
