We had arranged an event for two days at tehkhana restaurant in udaipur. We had well informed them the timing for both the days. during the first day event we found the lights to be inappropriate and requested them if they could arrange for more lights specially white lights as it was appearing very dull and dark. after several request it all went to deaf ears and no solution at all. We managed in the same situation and carried on with our event. The food as said would be buffet and but we found out that it was no buffet and food was not all all to the mark. the starter soup were served in thermacol glasses seen it for the first time was shocked to see as normally it's been served in soup bowls. That was not all after lunch their so called manager walk in during the event and says that the owner would like to have a word, when met him we were shocked to know he was not the person we had spoken and finalised the deal for the venue and this person was very rude and said we cannot give you the venue tom, when asked the reason he had none and just said we will if you increase the cost. We are not from udaipur we plan and book venue in advance so there is no last minute delays or confusion. these people wanted to take an advantage as it was last moment and we were not in a situation to say no. This was not ethical at all from their end and wrong biz practise. Then I called the owner of Tehkhana whom we had been talking before finalisation but there was no reply and he did not even bother to call back. We had to take a strong decision and we did not conduct the second day event at Tehkhana hotel and some how managed at a different venue.
While coming back from udaipur I called the same person who actually is the owner Mr Ranjit, I was shocked to listen to his escuse. He said a day prior to our event he sold of the tehkhana venue and he is no longer the owner. Hahaha Today also if you go online you would find his name and contact no and if you call he is the one who answers and says he the owner.
Worst experience, worst food, worst venue,no etiquette, respect not at ethical. if you ever plan to do any event or function...
Read moreI recently had a very disappointing experience at Tehkhana Restaurant. The food was undercooked and completely unappetizing, far from what I expected given the high prices. For the cost, I would have expected at least decent quality, but it was nowhere near worth the money.
To make matters worse, the hygiene standards were appalling. The dice used in the food preparation were dirty, the tables were sticky and clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly, and the bathroom was in terrible condition. There was no water available in the washbasin, which is just unacceptable for a restaurant. Overall, the lack of cleanliness and poor service made for an unpleasant dining experience. I won't be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreReview is for the bar only. Tehkhana translates roughly to 'basement' and so you need to go underground to enter this place. This is neither a lively friendly bar nor an upmarket fancy pub. One word to describe it would be 'dead'. The food is best avoided and since this is the only bar in this area and you don't much have a choice, You'll probably have to drink whatever they are stocking rather than what you want. I was struck by the wastage of space too since they could easily have put in a few...
