First Visit to Dosa Plaza, Rishikesh
Ambience: 4/5 The ambience is excellent for a family restaurant. It's a great spot in Rishikesh to bring your family and friends, offering a proper family vibe.
South Indian: 2/5 Unfortunately, the South Indian food was disappointing. While the dosa batter was good, the masala was bland, lacking flavor in the stuffing. The tomato chutney was underwhelming, though the coconut chutney was okay. The sambar, a crucial element for enhancing South Indian flavors, was not good at all. Given that this restaurant is called "Dosa Plaza," my expectations were high, but I was highly disappointed with the South Indian offerings. This is a renowned Mumbai chain, but they haven’t maintained the quality of South Indian food in Rishikesh.
Chinese: 5/5 The Chinese soup was extraordinary—flavorful and delicious. It was fantastic, especially for Rishikesh.Indian: 5/5 The Paneer Tikka, Kadhai Paneer, and Garlic Naan were superb. The cottage cheese was super soft, and the food was fresh and promptly served. A must-try!
Service: 4/5 Service met my expectations for Rishikesh. It was nice overall.
Staff: 5/5 The staff were very helpful and attentive. Even with only three staff members, they managed everything very well. A special mention to the Sales Manager from Lucknow (whose name I’ve forgotten) – he was very humble and courteous. Overall Experience: I had a good experience and will definitely visit again with my family. All the best, and keep up...
Read moreI myself is feeling embarrassed to write this review as I have never written any bad review for any of the restaurants or hotels u get the food or service according to the payment......but for the first time I have seen such a shameful act taking amount for the one item and serving the other one...I have ordered Medu Vada (120 Rs.-2pcs) and they have given me Mini medu Vada 2pcs I repeat Mini......there's an item of mini Vada also in the menu (170Rs.-7Pcs).....such a irritating and mood spoiling act it was....as I informed about it to the waiter there was no proper response as they were worried of their 120Rs. I didn't utter a single word just paid and stepped out.
The thing here matters for me is My mood and all the cravings which I was having lost in a fraction of secs..... literally spoiled my evening. Stop playing such cheap tricks.......Me being in Rishikesh from last two years as I have explored almost all the cafe's and few hotels never I had such disappointments and such cheap tricks played to save (whatever u people saved from it by serving Mini and taking 120 Rs.).
The person who was at billing counter was least bothered of it and didn't have a minimum courtesy to question the waiter who served.
It's matter of trust and respect u pay towards...
Read moreI recently dined at Dosa Plaza and had a decent experience. The restaurant offers a variety of South Indian and Punjabi dishes that cater to different palates. The food was undeniably tasty, with a wide range of dosas and curries that left me satisfied.
However, my experience was slightly marred by the slow service. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, and it took longer than expected to receive our orders. This can be frustrating, especially when you're hungry and eager to dig into the delicious food on offer.
The ambiance of Dosa Plaza was alright, but it didn't particularly stand out. The decor was a bit plain and could use some improvement to create a more inviting atmosphere. Nevertheless, it was clean and well-maintained.
In summary, Dosa Plaza is a restaurant that serves up a decent fusion of South Indian and Punjabi dishes. The food is undoubtedly the highlight of the experience, but the slow service and the mediocre ambiance were slight drawbacks. If you're in the mood for some tasty dosas and unique flavors, this restaurant is worth a visit. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait and a...
