Late Review, went last year I suppose in May after a highly disappointing experience in Carmine of radisson blue, reluctantly thought of trying another buffet restaurant and bouy am I glad.
As you enter the hotel, you see beautiful flowers. But what strikes you is a weird smell near the restaurant area probably coming from nearby washrooms.
Went to mosaic resto, I was seated immediately but I didn't get desired table because they were expecting guests.
First thing that catches your attention when you go to buffet area is how shabby it looks especially the big door near chaat counter which looks like it has not been painted in years. And unfortunately floors look dirty and dilapidated as well. Not like 5 -Star standards.
Anyway, Arguably the best main course in any buffet in Pune. And I've tried in many popluar 5-stars restaurants but main course always fails to impress but not here.
I started with tomato soup, which I didn't like. There were only two options for veg starters, corn which was crunchy and paneer was soft and succulent, loved them both.
Tried cold thai noodles from salad counter which was yum and other no so memorable salads.
What I don't appreciate it that they have placed all veggies and non-vegetarian ๐ฅฉ๐ฅ๐ณ๐ฅ salad items together and it's placed in extremely closed contact and name tags gets misplaced and difficult to identify veg from non-veg. Fruits/salads everything stuffed in one compact table.
There was a chaat counter and it's DIY. And I took a tbsp of it. One mocktail, couldn't figure out what it was, refreshing nevertheless and buttermilk which wasn't chilled. ๐น
Coming to main course, I usually have a tsp/tbsp of it everywhere but this resto was an exception. They had plethora of options for veggies which I appreciate. Loved every dish. Cannot name even one dish that didn't taste good.
Noodles was the best, had plateful of it and there was pulao which was yum. They had Italian, continental, Indian, a mix bag. Delicious and creamy pasta, corn and mushroom in white sauce, cottage cheese in sambal curry was fab, corn palak gravy was rich. Yellow Dal was ok. Had a fulfilling main course, possibly for the first time.
Then for desserts, all of it was eggless barring one ๐คฉ for the first time, I had so many options to choose from in a non-veg restaurant.
There was kiwi pudding which I didn't like. They were out of custard. ๐ฅญ๐ซ๐ง๐ฐ cakes, barfi, peda, couldn't finish the Indian sweets. All were palatable.
What blew my mind was the walnut halwa, it was exquisite ๐ had it for the first time. It was over at buffet counter when I went so it was served at the table and they were generous with quantity. It was the best thing in the entire buffet. ๐ soooo delicious.
I didn't like butterscotch ๐ง liked ๐ฅญ๐ง though.
There were ๐ชฐ sitting on cakes and they should use net covers to protect food. And flies bombarded my table as well and I had to constantly shoo them away and they failed to do anything about it hence I had to reduce 1 star.
Anyway, I was so full by the end of eating that I had to skip dinner and had very late breakfast the other day.
Tosi who's from Mizoram served happily and she was courteous. Sorry if I have mistaken her name.
It was an excellent dining experience barring few...
ย ย ย Read moreFlies Flies everywhere, nowhere to go. That's the first thing that you notice as you sit to eat, ๐ชฐ ๐ชฐ on your table. Had to goto zehangir ๐ฅ so ended up here very late for Sunday brunch.
We were greeted by a girl. All the Staff are courteous and helpful. The spread is vast and Variety was good enough. Live stations comprising of chats, dosa, moctails, crepes sections were there.
Didn't have the heart to indulge in chole bhature in this scorcher ๐ฅ They could have arranged pav bhaji or jalebi station instead. There was no pizza or pasta. I wonder if anybody would dare to opt for bhature for lunch. ๐ฅต
Requested for an ๐ ๐ธfirst thing, ๐ฅ weren't eggless so couldn't try.
For soup, unfortunately they had same counter for both veg and non-veg so couldn't try Khao Suey and they were handling it together unlike other 5-star restaurants that I've been to.
Mini uttampam was good and samosa chaat was ok as well. Haryali paneer was soft and tasty. All others starters were fine too.
Main course was yum except ๐ manchurian and aglio Olio. ๐ wasn't thoroughly cooked. Veg biryani was fabulous ๐ undoubtedly the best item in the brunch. Dal Makhani was ๐ Palak kofta's yum, so was green thai ๐ Liked the Singapore ๐ as well. Nobody asked if breads were required for main course nor did they guide where to order. ๐
In Salads, everything was placed in a hotch potch manner.
Right next to some veg ๐ฅ was kept pork, ham and all the meats. That counter was a mess and the kitchen entrance near salad section looked dirty as if the tiles/floor area hasn't been cleaned in ages. Not at all 5 star standardsโ Needs some ๐จ ๐ work.
Desserts were most disappointing although choices provided were good but ๐ชฐ ๐ชฐ ๐ชฐ ๐ชฐ were sitting peaceful on each and every dish ๐ ๐ฅฎ ๐ฅ ๐ง ๐ฐ why can't they cover the foods or get rid of flies permanently ๐ Again tongs were missing.
I had to remove the upper layer of all the items. Shahi tudka was good and so was baked mihidana with a twist. But it wasn't authentic since I'm from East India and eaten ample times. ๐ฅ ๐ฐ was awful. Rest was fine. Liked lichee cake as well. Banoffee pie had completely melted. Didn't taste good. ๐ I was surprised to see no ๐ฅญ ๐ Thandai wasn't good or thanda either, couldn't drink it. Got ๐ฅญ ๐ธ to refresh my palate and butterscotch ๐จ If you don't ask for ๐จ it doesn't get served...

To make the experience even better, I decided to book a table through Zomato gold, which offered a fantastic 50% discount. The restaurant had a buffet option, which gave us a wide variety of choices.
As soon as we arrived, we couldn't resist trying the Hara bhara kebab with paneer chilly starter. It was absolutely delicious and left us feeling satisfied. To quench our thirst, we ordered a refreshing pineapple mocktail, which turned out to be a delightful choice.
For the main course, I opted for the Paneer Butter masala with papad and butter roti. Although it was just average in taste, my partner ordered the Murg gravy masala, which was simply amazing. We paired it with some butter naan, and it was a match made in culinary heaven.
Of course, we couldn't leave without indulging in some dessert. The restaurant had a wide array of options, and we were spoilt for choice. You can even see the mouthwatering desserts in the picture.
The service at MOSAIC was top-notch, although I regret not getting the name of the lady who served us. Our bill came to around 2880rs, but thanks to the 50% discount and a coupon worth 150rs, our final bill was a pleasant surprise at around 1300rs. We definitely didn't expect it to be so low!
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at MOSAIC and I'm already looking forward to visiting again. Next time, I plan to explore their hotel rooms and try out different dishes from their enticing menu of...
