Aruvi Veg Restaurant — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

I have ben ordering food from Aruvi through swiggy for quite sometime now and liked their south Indian items. Esp breakfast like idli sambar tastes real good.

So i thought of visiting the restaurant for a dine in. All the positives i thought on their food turned down on their service. The waiters definitely needs some customer facing education. They somehow feel that "in the middle of their happy time standing in the reception and chit chatting, some customers are coming and the need to be served".

My latest experience was on 27-Aug-2022 as I visited for Breakfast. Before even I sit on the chair, one waiter (a lean fellow with specs and a sandhana pottu) comes to me and says "only idly poori dosa available". I asked if vada is available, he says "yes". Ordered for idly vada and poori. He continously sees his tab / mobile to prepare the KOT and asks "idly and poori?". I repeated 3 times that he is missing vada. But that guy was too reluctant and I didn't get my vada. I had to again ask the person who cleans the table and he serves me.

They are sure on letting the building for someother business soon. If this style of service continues, max 1 year and some other business will take over the premises. Swiggy should be the only...

CHEATERS I had two items (Chola puri & Adai Avial), as per their menu one was priced Rs.70 and another one was Rs.60, but they charged Rs.80.95 and Rs.66.67 respectively. They have two menus, one in flyer format and another one is proper menu card, both had same price as Rs.70 and Rs 60.

BTW, look like in few menu cards (which they didn't give to me, seems like they changed only on their own copy), have new numbers listed next to old price. Old price was not stroke out or masked, simply listed one after another. BTW, even the new number is not matching with price they charged in receipt.

Bottom point, price is not matching with both their menus, even new numbers are only with them, not shared at all. When I raised this question, they are simply dancing around to find the reason, but not willingly to accept the mistake and correct the receipt. And one of the person the billing girls called for clarification, was very rude, they have mindset they are above all.

Price in menu are kind of agreement between customer and Restaurant owner, that I am willing to pay the amount. They shouldn't allow to change the price on the fly.

Went to have proper lunch n find this place .

They had 3 type of meals one is unlimited vegetarian lunch for 150 , kalyana virundhu for 210 n 200 north indian meals.

I went for kalayana virundhu first served tomato soup small portion but taste was fantastic.

Then comes the plate loaded with food.

1- veg biryani along with raitha excellent. 2- chapati n. Kuruma superb , everywhere chapati will be hard here it was soft Avarai n murungai vadavam sambhar excellent taste. Parupu podi n ghee top notch. 5- 2 types kootu was excellent but the fry one was okay (ladies finger). 5- mor kulambu one of the best one had one in recent times 6- vatha kulambu excellent. 7- Parupu rasam was excellent. 8 - payasam was good 9 a small portion of ice cream+ fruits. 10 - one ulundu vadai + big appalam + one mor milagaha.
