Recently tried Basil with Twist @ OMR Chennai.., I started a simple refreshing mojito… then I tried garlic prawns and chicken teriyaki skewers… the starters were soooo yum and the portion was sooooo perfect and filling for two .. garlic prawns was soooo juicy and its a must try.. then I tried lamb bolognese spaghetti and the lamb was super minced and blended soooo well with the spaghetti and slurpy and I ended up finishing my plate squeeky clean.,.now comes the best part . I tried their signature classic cheese cake which hands down is the winner and I must say their panacotta coffee and tiramasu and choco frappe with whipped cream was best again ,. I totally had best food experience and the price was reasonable as well and I must thank Mr. Surender and Mr. Sampath and their team ( each and everyone ) for making my taste palette n soul soooo happy … they were all soooo friendly and full of smiles n energetic throughout!! Kudos to the whole team ., will visit...
Read moreMe and a friend went here on a weekday by evening around 5.30-6 and once we entered there is guy sleeping in the corner , we ignored that and felt there is no A/C running in the restaurant and the place is so hot and we started sweating , asked to turn on the ac they did after that and we spent an half an hour there and it’s still hot , and the service person not answering anything abt the heat and told us switch seats get a better air bluntly , I can clearly felt that we are not welcomed there and the service person not responding properly while we ask abt the menu , we got frustrated and left the place and decided never going back there , felt maybe that’s their sleep time and we disturbed that, and my friend who recommended this place is also decided never going back there , because of the worst experience we faced in there , management need to look into that otherwise u need to close the business because of these...
Read moreRecently visited the OMR branch of Basil with a twist. We ordered jalapeño cheese poppers & spicy prawns from the appetizers. The spicy prawn was served like 8-9 pieces pan fried prawns with mayo. Wish it had a simple salad to accompany which most of the restaurants serve. Just the 8 pieces of prawns were definitely not worthy for 430/- Also we ordered chickenizza for the mains which was just bland and fillet mignon tenderloin beef steak which again didn’t have any veggies and the taste was just fine for the price of 790/- The place should probably improve in serving a complete dish to its customers for the price that they put up on their menu that even a local and reasonably selling restaurant serves! Nothing to comment on its ambience which had blue and white stripes on the wall!! On the whole it indeed was a disappointing evening in Basil...
