Nestled in the heart of our city at Kotturpuram, "Ciclo Cafe" stands as a haven for food enthusiasts and cycling aficionados alike. Our group of seven cycling enthusiasts recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming establishment, and it turned out to be an experience that surpassed our expectations in every aspect.
Upon entering, we were greeted by a cozy and inviting ambiance that perfectly complemented the theme of the cafe. Bicycle-themed decor adorned the walls, creating a cheerful and energetic atmosphere. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and well-versed with the menu, adding a personal touch to our dining experience right from the start.
Now, let's delve into the culinary journey that "Ciclo Cafe" took us on. The menu boasted a delightful array of dishes ranging from traditional Italian fare to classic American comfort food. We started our meal with their signature pizzas, and we were blown away by the quality and taste. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside yet soft and chewy on the inside, topped with fresh ingredients bursting with flavor. The Paneer tikka pizza, in particular, stood out.
Moving on to the pasta dishes, we savored every bite of the creamy Alfredo and tangy Arrabbiata. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the sauces were well-balanced, showcasing the expertise of the kitchen team. As for the burgers, they were a delightful indulgence. Juicy patties, fresh veggies, and fluffy buns made each burger a satisfying treat. The chicken wings were another highlight, perfectly seasoned and cooked to crispy perfection, they were a hit among our group.
What truly elevated our dining experience at "Ciclo Cafe" was not just the delicious food but also the attention to detail and the thoughtfulness put into every aspect of our visit. The presentation of the dishes was impeccable, enhancing the overall dining pleasure. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that we left the cafe with contented bellies and happy hearts.
In conclusion, "Ciclo Cafe" exceeded our expectations on all fronts. From the delicious food to the warm hospitality it was an experience that left a lasting impression on us. We highly recommend this “Ciclo Cafe” to anyone looking for a blend of excellent cuisine and friendly ambiance. Our group is already looking forward to our next visit to the their outlets in ECR and Anna Nagar to savour more of their...
Read moreA very very unhappy experience. I have been eating at Ciclo Cafe since October 2022 and I was a very happy customer then as well as during my next couple visits. However, when I went back in May 2025 after quite a long gap of not eating at Ciclo, I decided it would have to be my last visit to the place.
The food had always been very tasty but this time, it seemed just average to me - the pastas were alright but nothing special and the starters/salad were truly very average. To make it worse, the service was the slowest I have ever seen in any restaurant till date. 30 minutes for starters - salad, fries, and a focaccia melt (preceded by the 15 minutes it took for us to drag a waiter to our table so we could order - and we were among the few people eating at the time so if it wasn't the lunch rush keeping the waiters from attending to us, were we just being ignored??) and 45-50 minutes before we received our main course. And the worst part? In our party of four, three of our dishes (all pastas) were delivered after a 45-minute wait by which point we'd nearly lost our appetite, and the fourth person's dish had not arrived even by the time the rest of us had nearly finished eating our food! Finally, the dessert (a simple apple pie) took nearly 20 minutes to arrive.
We had to put in tremendous effort to try to get a waiter's attention every time we needed something; we were not provided cutlery at our table and basically had to go to the counter and beg them to bring some to the table; when we asked for our food to be served, the waiter would say he would be right back and vanish without a trace; and I could go on and on but the gist is that this was overall a terrible experience.
Price-wise, the place seems to have become much more expensive from what it was before (600 approx per head to 800 per head), and while I would not mind paying more for good food and good service, increased prices for mid food and terrible service? No thank you Ciclo, you just lost a set of customers.
Anyway, this is a warning to anyone looking to eat here based on previous good experiences - please don't make the same mistake we did. I don't know if the management has changed or if there's some other issue, but Chennai has no dearth of options for good food so please take your...
Read moreSo I drove in to Chennai from Bangalore with my 80 yr old mom. Since Ciclo was near where we were planning to stay, we decided to get a quick lunch. It was about 1 pm, the place was reasonably crowded, and my mom was ravenous, so we ordered something quick and easy - a half-and-half pizza (my mom’s veg, I’m not), and a brownie with ice-cream (she has a sweet tooth! 😊).
20 min later, no sign of any pizza (except that of the guy at the next table who ordered after us). I ask the waitress, she looks flustered, says “5 minutes”, and 10 min later, comes to our table… with the wrong pizza for my mom! I point it out, she apologises, says “5 minutes” and disappears. Nothing happens for a while, except that we get hungrier. Another 20 min later, I ask to see the Manager, who comes, apologises, says “5 minutes”, and comes back down 10 min later with the right pizza. Hungry, we eat, get dessert, pay, leave.
Is the story over? Nope. I’d paid by GPay, and I get a notification which doesn’t look right. I check against the bill, I’ve been overcharged (the bill was Rs 1076, I’ve been charged Rs 1706). Now I’m mad. Ok, everybody makes mistakes, but 2 of them back to back??? That’s just plain stupidity! I go back, call the Manager, who again apologises profusely, and pays me the difference in cash.
My point? I’ve worked with F&B outlets, both big and small, and I’ve NEVER met a team so disinclined to win the customer over. No soothing of ruffled feathers, no offer of a freebie, or a discount, or a redeemable coupon, nothing! (except for some pink liquid which was placed on our table with no explanation whatsoever).
I’m not asking for a handout. But really, these people need to learn the basics of the service industry. Which is much more than random apologies.
My rating: Ambience: Good. Friendly, colourful, thematic. Food: Average (my pepperoni was not bad, my mom’s Verdure was obviously hastily thrown together and super-bland. The brownie was great,...
