Cocktails- Only place where a cocktail can get you high. I mean they seriously dont negotiate on the alcohol content in their cocktail. Ordered long island tea, cosmopolitan, wow and tequilla sunrise. Very much satisfied..
Starters Calamari fritters- There r very few places in Chennai where they cook their Calamari right and east square is one among them. Crunchy outside and soft inside non rubber calamari. Out of the world. Must try..
Tapas Shrimp - Wowwwwww . I was skeptical ordering sea food but thank god I did. This is one of those heavenly dish you can try here. Perfectly sauted shrimp in wine and that perfect dose of garlic just yummm. Garlic bread to lick clean the juices. This dish will surely give you foogasm.
Herb Garlic Shrimp - after trying the tapas shrimp i was adventurous and wanted to find out if their other seafood tasted as good as the tapas and God i tell you its finger licking good. Both the dishes had garlic but taste was totally different from each other. Served with bread this cant me missed.
Pork bbq - I was told this was the only pork dish on their menu and I had to try it. If they were good with their sea food i guessed they can never go wrong with their pork. When the dish came to the table it stole my heart. Love at first sight i must say. Perfectly cooked pork belly sauted with capcicum, peppers and garlic . Pork lovers you cant miss on this.
Korean Fried Chicken - i have had better but yes they didnt disappoint me. Expected it to be spicier and a lil sweet but it was more sweeter and less spicier. But i relished it. I will give it a pass next time.
Main Course Lamb Bolognese pasta - good pasta thats all i can say .
Lemon Butter fish- Basa fish fillet perfectly coated with light bread crumbs tossed in butter and squeeze of lemon served with a herb sauted rice and some boiled stir fried veggies . I am endorsing their sea food as a must try, its top notch.
Desserts Tiramisu - a perfect dessert to end the dinner with . They had some other delicious desserts on the menu but we were too full. My friend asked me to leave something to try for the next time 🤣🤣.
I am very particular about my food and East Square's didnt give a single reason to raise my eyebrow as far as food is concerned.
We were 3 people and our bills was 6k. Thank God we opted East Square over Flying Elephant for Dinner.
Complaints- Service - Disappointing if I may say. I understand it was crowded on a sunday evening , but basic service is expected. Everytime I looked for someone kinda felt everyone ignored the table .Thank God the food was good we kinda over looked the service part. Ac not working- small things can spoil your experience and this was...
Read moreThe ambience looked great. We went in for a dine in without any prior reservation. As soon as we entered the place, at the reception area itself we asked the Maître d' (host at the reception area) if he could provide us with a table for 3. It was only my husband, my toddler and I so we requested for 3 seats (we also had baby's diaper bag and another bag with us). From the onset, the Maître d' was extremely rude and snooty and acted like he couldn't be bothered. I repeated myself multiple times asking for a table and he kept ignoring. He eventually asked me if I had a reservation to which I said no. He blatantly told me that he has multiple reservations so the tables are all full. Normally when we visit a restaurant without a reservation, if its fully packed, the Maître d' will either politely inform us that there are no tables available or that we may have to wait a while to get a table as we have not reserved in advance. Both scenarios are completely understandable as we have not reserved a table. As long as you politely tell us, that's ok. However, this particular person was so rude. He just said we're full in a manner which was so dismissive. So I again asked him myself if we should leave as you dont have any tables. He said yes. Then just to understand his point of view I asked him why is he saying so as there are so many tables vacant, to which he said ok I can give you a table at the corner but its only for 2 people. So I asked him then where will my baby sit. He arrogantly said ok I will give a high chair. The whole experience was so putting off that we decided to leave. We weren't shabbily dressed and we were not asking him to serve us at half the price. We were guests and were expecting to be treated in a hospitable manner. Though we were extremely hungry at that point, we decided that it didnt matter anymore because we just didnt like his attitude. It was extremely snobbish and unwarranted. For a person working in the hospitality industry, I would request the Maître d' to be a little more attentive and hospitable, especially as this is the person who becomes the face of the restaurant for a guest who has just entered the place. I dont care if this review makes a difference or not. But I decided to share because his attitude was not acceptable. We eventually went to Jonah's where the ambience, service and food were all very good. I must say that I haven't tasted the food at East Coast so I am determined to visit again (with a reservation and ONLY because of the chef) so I will definitely update my feedback accordingly. However currently, on the basis of only service, I rate...
Read moreHave been wanting to go to this place for a long time... Every time I go in ECR and tell my friends or family let's go to this place, the response comes that it is not on main road... It might be inside some lanes and not sure if car parking is there bla bla bla....
Finally today Sunday morning I told my family that we are going to this place and we will figure out the route and parking once we reach there.... It wasn't difficult to find this place... There are ample sign boards to guide you and Google maps are accurate.... No valet parking but you can leave your car in the street and there is a security guard...
The place is beautiful... It is a nice resto bar and has seats inside and outside as well... There are plenty of tables especially if you come in large groups they can accommodate you easily....
We sat inside where the place is covered with glass instead of walls... So plenty of natural light comes inside....
Menu is simple... They have continental, Italian and Indian cuisine... We ordered for cheese fries, a margarita pizza, chicken wings, baked vegetables.... Cheese fries was amazing... Definitely one of the best fries I had in recent years... Chicken wings were soft nicely covered with sauces and flavorful.... Pizza was plain and simple... We asked not to add tomatoes and it came exactly the way we wanted. It was soft, cheesy and the base was perfectly done.... They make their own base which was good... The baked vegetables was superb... It was served with herbed rice which was the base for baked vegetables... Overall great food...
Moving on the desserts, ordered for chocolate caramel cake. It arrived and looked very familiar... It was one of the cakes baked by a friend. She also has a shop in Alwarpet called Freshly Baked Goodness... It was awesome...
The ambience is great, the music was pleasant and the service was awesome.... Abong was managing our table and did an excellent job. He knew about the dishes in the menu. He explained the dishes very well and was extremely polite so were everyone who worked there....
A small suggestion to the management... The smoking zone is bang outside the dining area... Even though the smell doesn't come inside it is little awkward because the walls are made of glass. You come with family and kids being incusitive tends to ask what are the people keeping in mouth. Why are they blowing smoke out of their mouth.... If you can cover the place or ask the people who want to smoke to step out then it'll be good... Just a suggestion, otherwise it's an awesome place and will definitely come...
