The Mayflower — Restaurant in Zone 14 Perungudi

We visited the Palavakkam branch for the first time with so much expectations after seeing the positive reviews and personally knowing that the Teynampet branch is a stunner. But we had the most disappointing experience from this place and we had to walk out of here.

1. The service was pathetic. Even after waiting for almost 20 minutes, not even water was served. Even after asking for water we had to wait for 5 minutes and check again to get a bottle.
2. We ordered a soup and 2 starters. They brought in the starter first and mentioned that soup is delayed. This took minimum 30 minutes.
3. The worst part was the environment. AC wasn't switched on for the entire period and it was so humid inside. We went with a one year old baby. Everyone in the restaurant was complaining about the AC situation. When we asked for the manager no-one came in and after a while a guy walked in with no sense of responsibility and said that there's some maintenance work going on and hence AC is not working.
4. Firstly when there's so many customers to serve and you are giving food at a premium, you need to maintain a good environment, which was clearly not there. The waitresses and the staffs were sweating like crazy like all other customers. Kitchen would've been the same I presume. Food is being served with this unhygienic condition which is terrible to even think about. We literally had to walk out of the restaurant cancelling the entire order because it was too suffocating to sit in that place. Advise to management - Please do not spoil the name you have by indulging in such cost saving practice like switching off AC when you are charging a premium from customers. Also provide good service to customers and value...

🥖 🧅French Onion soup : caramelized onions with loads of butter and some cheese 🧀 Tasted amazing !!!

🛑 Panko fried chicken 🍗 : Chip style thinly sliced chicken crumb fried well and served with dips - wasabi mayo/peri peri.

🍊 Orange Chicken 🍗 : Bite size portions tossed in a zesty sauce with a beautiful orange taste that gives a kick.

⭐Crispy Lotus Stem : This dish is a MUST TRY ! The taste is Sweet, Spicy & Tangy.

⭐💰 Money Bag : This is one Bomb 💣 of a dish. Veggies and paneer Sauteed in aromatic spices tied in a pastry sheet and fried until crispy served with a sweet soy dip.

Moon Fun Fried Rice 🍚 : tossed in an amazing spices and sauces with 4 types of mushroom 🍄 is such a treat for fried rice lovers.

🥘🍜 Khao Suey : MUST TRY !!! ✨ ⭐ "BEST IN TOWN!"

Dessert 🎂 : Theobroma & Death by Chocolate Cake was pretty delicious.

The Service was very quick & Manager helped us to order. The maintenance was amazing and the staff are very obliging.

It's a perfect place for family as well as a date ! And that's something unique. The vibe is 🔥

Lunch with family... The decor seemed confusing... Something wasn't working... And to add to that, the air conditioning wasn't working... the place however came highly recommended by a foodie friend, and hence took a table... the staff were courteous and attentive... we started off with a roasted pumpkin soup, and a french onion chicken soup. The roasted pumpkin soup was testament to why the recommendation was strong! Bursting with flavours and right on spot... The French Onion soup however was a big miss... They'd forgotten the caramelized onion garnish... but were prompt in serving it when told. The soup still was just not there... and then came the prestige! The Korean fried burger, the roasted chicken with mushroom sauce, and the eggplant parmesan sandwich (this was called something else... unable to recollect the name) were drool worthy! By this time, we'd forgotten that the ac wasn't working and that the soup was a bit wanting... the staff were very pleasant and good natured and just the right kind of interactive. We went in like pirates boarding a golden vessel at the desserts... Blueberry cheesecake... Back to back 😀 and then a serving of Rose milk pull up... Mild theatre involved here... In all a relaxed and happy meal... All initial snags forgiven... Will happily come back! They were on easydiner... Got a 10% discount plus some additional discount when paid through the app... The restaurant was happy to receive the payment through easydiner... No odd reactions... Bill about rs.3500... paid about 2700 something after the discounts... Do give this...
