Shameless, rude , attitude is worst of the owner and the staff! Both father and son are money minded that is it, quality is not good just that the display of snacks and items served look jazzy ! Prices are extremely high than what its actual price would be, they don’t treat customers well. Just because a temple is stone throw away from this place and have got devotees crowding around! They made the prices high and got wrong attitude into themselves, I will not recommend them nor their neighbouring eateries due to unhealthy, low quality services and food served, diarrhoea will be the only thing that can happen to you if you eat from this place or it’s near by shops! Please be very careful at all times they don’t do quality check nor any food officer never visit this place, I was lucky I had 3 days office leave because of Christmas! I had suffered a lot after eating food from here. A samosa too that is worth 10 rupees is served for overhyped price of 50 ! Seriously and sometimes they don’t follow their price tags ! If you want to be healthy please avoid this locality except for the temple visit and go eat from somewhere else that is healthy ! And the veg fried rice ! Quantity is more but tooo oily ! That to how many days old no clue. Within that radius I could find only veg fried rice worth eating! My friend had samosa chat and dahi chat but samosa was less and curd and chutney was more ! Looked as if he was having samosa curd ! Again overpriced. Rest of the menu is tasty but because the prices are overhyped I believe it’s foolishness of customers to blindly pay for ! Except should there be an emergency situation or any uncertainty that you are forced to pay and eat ! If this is the case then they are introducing 3-5 star hotels price in a place that is not reasonable locally, it is unacceptable! They have ready to fight attitude. I would recommend closure of this shop and nearby eatery shops as all of them are unhealthy and strictly wouldn’t recommend for families as your children should be your first priority in terms of health and price and not jazzy fake...

If you’re roaming near Vadapalani Murugan Temple and your taste buds suddenly crave a North Indian or Gujarati food hug, Mithai Mandir might just wave at you from the 1st floor.
I went in for the meals and oh boy — the paneer and butter phulka were nothing short of heavenly. The badam milk was pure comfort in a glass, and their sweets? Chef’s kiss! Especially the Kashmiri Kalakand — so good, you might want to marry it. Even the freshly made doklas and parathas joined the party in style.
Now, full disclosure — me being a “mild-is-my-style” guy, a few of the side dishes were spicier than I’d prefer. But hey, spice lovers will probably do a little happy dance.
One teeny downside: parking. If you come by car, you might want to park far away and treat it as your pre-meal cardio. The dining space is small — especially on the 1st floor — so best to visit during non-peak hours unless you enjoy playing musical chairs for a seat.
All in all, Mithai Mandir serves up a sweet-spicy combo worth trying — as long as you’re ready for a pinch of...
Read morePeople ranted and raved about it, so what the heck. I went. 1st step was a stumble at the entrance. Next, a very steep staircase, black steps. Woe is the person who has sight issues. Then the time I was there taps were dry. A bucket and a tumbler had to do. Extremely claustrophobia inducing. But such is our country, so will give them a bye on this. Food... We'll let's say it wasn't a total waste. I've had better chappathi. But I digress. Getting them to speak Tamil was a challenge. Sadly I am not fluent in Hindi (shame on me) and they seemed to have run out of almost everything because silly me, I wasn't told we were going to be there just an hour before closing time. I am going again, but when in this lifetime is to be determined! A visit to Vadapalani Temple for those so inclined would be good too... Oh, it was just 2 days before Thaipusam, so there's...
