I recently had the pleasure of dining at North East Kitchen, and I must say that this restaurant truly lives up to its reputation for serving authentic and flavorful Northeastern cuisine. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in for a treat. One of the standout dishes at North East Kitchen was the Beef and Pork Meals with Gravy. The meat was incredibly tender and succulent, cooked to perfection. The rich and flavorful gravy complemented the meat beautifully, adding a savory and aromatic touch to the dish. The combination of beef and pork provided a delightful contrast in textures and flavors, making it a truly satisfying and hearty meal. Another highlight was the Chilly Pork and Chilly Beef. The tender pieces of pork and beef were cooked to perfection, coated in a flavorful blend of spices and chili. The meat was incredibly tender and practically melted in my mouth. The balance of spices and heat was just right, allowing the natural flavors of the meat to shine through. It was a delightful dish for those who enjoy a bit of spiciness in their meals. Beyond the exceptional meat dishes, North East Kitchen also offers a wide variety of other Northeastern specialties that are worth exploring. From aromatic fish curries to flavorful vegetable stir-fries, the menu showcases the diverse and vibrant flavors of the region. Each dish is prepared with care and attention to detail, ensuring an authentic and enjoyable dining experience. The ambiance of North East Kitchen is simple and cozy, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, ready to provide recommendations and cater to any dietary preferences or restrictions. Whether you're dining alone or with a group, the restaurant offers a comfortable setting to enjoy your meal. In conclusion, North East Kitchen is a must-visit restaurant for anyone seeking authentic Northeastern cuisine. The Beef and Pork Meals with Gravy, Chilly Pork, and Chilly Beef were all outstanding in taste and tenderness. The restaurant's commitment to preserving the authentic flavors of the region shines through in every dish. If you're in the mood for a flavorful and satisfying meal that showcases the culinary delights of Northeast India, North East Kitchen should be at the top of your list.

If you want to have authentic NE food with the focus only on flavours then search no more, this is the place. Food: Chicken Thukpa – A wholesome mild-spiced noodle soup with chicken, veggies and lot more of the broth; the meat was slightly crunchy, but the real hero was the veggies. The carrots, bell peppers, cilantro was all fresh with the taste of lotus root dominating the bowl Chicken Fried Momo – The homemade taste was spot-on in this dish; it was very soft while the crunchiness was only in bits and pieces; it had more of meat and with the chilli dip, this is good. Special Meal all curry plate definitely has to be the most exotic plate I’ve ever tried, Mixed veg sprout – Fresh, full of proteins and was sour Iromba – Spicy mashed potatoes with green veggies, one of a kind Green leaves – Kind of half-cooked but yes, definitely flavourful Boiled mix veg – Broccoli, carrot and beans; pretty bland and cold Kimchi – Spicy radish pickle; was springy with all the flavours Fried crispy nuts – Kind of sweet, crunchy to serve as THE snack Chicken curry with Sticky rice – Spicy gravy with soft chicken wings; with the rice, it was definitely on a different level (Need to try their beef and pork too) To finish up the meal was a complimentary watermelon which helped to alleviate the spiciness. Ambience/Price: This is a decent outlet with good seating space and mall parking facility. There are no complaints about the service, but the price is of concern. Not many would be happy with the Quantity:Price ratio (I personally felt it); can improve on the same.

I visited this place by word of mouth from my friend. I used to experiment food always and that’s the main reason I visited NEK. So the menu setup is completely different, they’ve separate sections for each meat. Why so because there a lot to choose from each section. So being confused and also was here for the first time, I requested the person there to suggest me with their specialties. I was open to all types of meat. So I was recommended for pork. So as a starter order a dish from pork and that was really really amazing. The way it was cooked and taste was excellent. Actually I didn’t expect that. Then a beef combo with rice, it was also good but not up to the level of pork. Also some momos to try. It was amazing. Also they give you some veggies and accompaniments. The place is little small but well maintained. Overall it’s a very good restaurant where they serve authentic north eastern and pan Asian cuisine at a nominal rate compared to other fancy restaurants.

I am an ardent fan of North East Food and their culture. So when I came to know of North East Kitchen, I wanted to give it a try. This was in my bucket list for quite something. Finally got to visit the restaurant on a Weekday.

Ambience: North East Kitchen is a quaint little restaurant with 5 tables, which can accommodate about 20 persons at a time. The ambience is neat and tidy. The tables are clean with enough cutleries in each table. I would say the ambience does what it is intended for. So don't come in expecting a over the top ambience to hang out.

Service: the restaurant is serviced by two waitresses, who takes the orders and serve the food. But the service was very satisfactory. The orders were taken quickly and the food arrived in 10 mins, which is good enough, for the kind of food they are serving.

Food: They offer a variety of North Eastern Food including Chow mien, Momos, Thukpas and soups. They also serve Korean specials like Ramyun, Kim Bap etc. They have a good varieties of Beef and Pork dishes as well. I tried their Chicken Kim Bap, Pork Ribs and Naga Chilli Beef Fry. The dishes are served with a plate of salad, which was really well seasoned and tasted really well. The Kim Bap was well done, with vegetables and Sausages at its core. Its a must try at this place. Don't miss it. The Naga chilli Beef fry was good and has a nice tinge of spiciness to it. The spiciness was not something that will be hard to handle. The Port ribs were roasted to perfection and was delicate and melt in the mouth texture. I Loved it.

The quantity of the dishes was large enough for 2 persons easily. So have this in mind when you order.

And they serve a slice of watermelon at the end (on the house, with their bill), which I think is a nice touch. It just washes down the spiciness of the food and clears our palette as well!! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a taste of Korean and North East Indian Cuisine, at an comparatively...

❌ Not worth a single penny! ❌

I tried their ₹400 combo rice, and it was a total disappointment. 😡 The curry was too little, and they only gave three tiny fried pieces! 🍛🍗 Compared to a regular meal outside, which costs around ₹150-₹200, this was way overpriced. 💸

Even the plain rice is ₹50, so what justifies the other dishes costing ₹350? 🤯 Absolutely not worth it! 🚫 Avoid this combo! 🚫

And hygiene is still zerO. 🙁😩😤

⭐⭐ 0/5 – Wouldn't recommend! 😤

As a customer, I recently dined at Northeast Kitchen in Egmore and unfortunately, my experience was not up to par. One of the main issues I encountered was the portion sizes, which were noticeably small for the price charged. This left me feeling unsatisfied and disappointed with the value for money.

Another concern I had was the excessive oiliness in the fried rice and noodles. The dishes were overly greasy, which affected the taste and made the meal feel heavy and unhealthy. This lack of attention to the cooking technique and quality of ingredients used was disappointing.

Furthermore, the service at Northeast Kitchen was subpar. The staff seemed disinterested in attending to customers and were often found talking amongst themselves or playing with their phones. This lack of professionalism and attentiveness to customers' needs was frustrating and affected the overall dining experience negatively.

Hygiene was also a concern during my visit. The restaurant did not appear to be well-maintained, and cleanliness standards were not met. This was concerning, especially considering the current emphasis on hygiene and safety in the food service industry.

In summary, my experience at Northeast Kitchen in Egmore was not satisfactory. The small food portions, overpriced and oily dishes, poor service, and lack of hygiene were disappointing and did not meet my expectations as a customer. I hope the restaurant takes steps to improve these areas in the future to provide a better dining experience for...
