“Sangeetha” one of the leading restaurant chains in Chennai was founded in a humble way crossing many struggles and challenges. The founding seed for this indigenous restaurant group dates back to 1950 in Udipi when young Padmanabha Pothi, a 12 year old boy was sent out of his home to find a job. After working in many hotels Pothi gathered all knowledge and experience to start his own hotel. His two sons P. Rajagopal and P. Suresh trusted their father and were all ready to run along with his father.
When the family moved to Chennai in 1978, Suresh who was pursuing his Pre University and Rajagopal who was studying to be a Chartered Accountant joined his father in setting up their first hotel “Suprabhatham” in West Mambalam.
After initial setbacks and hardships Suresh garnered strength to start the first “Sangeetha” hotel on July 7th 1985. Suresh, who juggled between roles from administration to addressing issues at the kitchen worked whole heartedly without succumbing to day-day operational overheads.
After 5 years in 1990 brother Rajagopal started a new branch at Mylapore, which was initially a dull business but eventually gathered momentum and helped the brothers to quickly start many outlets across Chennai.
Looking back, Mr.Pothi has lovingly handed down his experience and enormous skills to his two sons Mr. Rajagopal and Mr. Suresh. They have always worked alongside their father, who taught them the refined art of the restaurant business. The years have passed and the restaurant has been handed down to a third generation of restaurateurs who are innovative and eyeing new opportunities and experiences.
Mr. Rajagopal & Mr. Suresh has not only transformed SVR as the most famous restaurants in and around Chennai, but along with their business expansion strategies they have made the SVR group operational across eight countries worldwide.
With expansion as their vision, the brothers have not compromised the motto of quality food at affordable prices in any of the outlets. They have taken utmost care to ensure that wellness and love has precipitated into every aspect of the SVR group across boundaries.
Without being immodest, the brothers declare that their passion has made them grand. The SVR group is well-patronized by VIPs and has become one of the liveliest restaurants in Chennai. With business innovation and food innovation both going hand in hand every day we are exploring and re-inventing new ideas to the history of restaurant business.

Read moreI never experienced a worst branch of the Sangeetha veg restaurants located at#126, Santhome Road, Santhome.
I had ordered for Basmati Sambhar Rice worth ₹110/- a piece of papad roll with pepper toasted and Basmati Sambar Rice with vegetables and cashews.
1.No quality and clean plates whereas in other branches like Vandalur, Urapakkam & Commanders Court Road Egmore, they have greater and high quality of serving including cleanly washed plastic plastic plates with banana leafs. But in this branch particularly problem occurs with Uncleaned Plates and also the water tumblers / glass is unclean and after testing two glasses of water had reported to server and the server brought better washed glass with good water.
I had never experienced such a worst experience in my life especially @ Sangeetha this Particular Branch.
However I had highlighted my feedback to Cashier at the counte for my visit of 29th November 2018 at 19:00 to 19:43 (07:00 pm to 07:43 pm) He promised that in future nonsuch repetition of poor or Uncleaned Service will Happen.
But this is the second time I am facing the Uncleaned Plates and Uncleaned glasses issue. Moreover you all know that Cleanliness is next to Godliness. But the 🏨 Sangeetha Veg Restaurant was interested to collect money 💰. But they failed to provide better quality and neat Service. How other branches if the same Sangeetha Veg Restaurant is providing quality service of well cleaned plates and good tumblers and water.
Hope to see the improvement of this specific Sangeetha Veg Restaurant Provides better quality service in the up coming future.
I request your good selves to visit and post your feedback. And I am hating this particular Sangeetha Veg Restaurant branch alone.
I request you to share your like and comments. Thank you for...
Read moreHad couple of bad experience here. This is one such restaurant I'v been to since my childhood. Yea...it's for their good food. But these days both their service & food is getting bad - worse. Went there for breakfast once & it was during a government holiday, even though it was crowded- less; their staffs were really weak in service. Everyone had to wait for quite long to get them to their tables to place order itself. Inspite of us calling them couple of times (@ intervals) they just wanted us to wait for no reason & just kept crossing...only when we asked for the manager, he assigned a person to take orders & stuff! They hardly apologized! Second event was for dinner few days later, when one of our family members wanted to be there & it was unavoidable. We ordered for paneer tikka- found the green chutney too cold & stale, one ghee dosa- coconut chutney was done with old coconuts & tasted really bad, roti & veg kohlapuri- veg kohlapuri was too salty, moreover the drinking water that they served was full of dirt & dust... They served us with icecream spoon (bamboo) for the curry instead of a curry or serving spoon...when informed they immediately went to prepare another veg curry even without responding to us while we were still talking to them! They also insisted not to pay for the dosa...but we stood stubborn to pay for it. When informed to the resto manager, he was very cool to jus give us a water bottle & asked us to eat falooda instead of correcting their staffs... Restaurants like these once they earn good fame & customer reputation, think they came just like that & are providing free service!!! Very disappointing one! The basic service or quality of food seems to fade off, especially these days...they hardly...
