SS Hyderabad Biryani Rolls vs Kababs — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

DON'T FOLLOW THE HYPE. We went here for lunch today. I am generally in search for a good biryani and like always... this wasn't the one .

(The thing is there really isn't going to be a good biryani place for this generation,For those people looking for it.. I'm really feeling sorry.)

We had 1.chicken biryani,2. Mutton Biryani Chicken Al faham half grill. What you do get is good quantity as in, if you buy one biryani it easily feeds two people. The taste is really average and not worth the hype. The chicken biryani is oily and the mutton biryani is bland and of less flavor. The brinjal curry is good and you get bread halwa with the biryani. The Afghani chicken is a dry form of grill with some kind of masala sprinkled on it. Not very special. My advice is get one biryani and share amongst two.

If you seem to be in that area and want to try that you can but its definitely not worth Travelling for. The place is usually crowded and fast filling so be prepared for waiting. Again I tell you the taste is really average and is a normal biryani don't get excited and fall for the hype. People just falsely believe it's the best and go there. Just don't spend too much it cost me 700 rupees for two biryani and half grill. I wish you all well. Let me know if you know a place that sells good biryani Thanking...

Edit - 14-sep-2025 I made an online order in their website prior to 2 days considering delivery is on Sunday. Immediately I got a call confirming order stating it will delivered by 1.45 pm. Now while writing this review it is 1.30pm and when I called several times, they finally answered and saying it will be delivered by only 2.45pm. Worst planning, this is third time I'm having this issue, once directly visiting the shop they spoke very rude that the deliveries will begin only from 12noon which is fine if they have spoken calm. You could have large customer base if customer service is going to be poor. You will lose eventually. Attached order receipt.

Honestly felt really bad for ordering here today. We had a family function and the order was delayed by 2 hours. They delivered at 2.10 pm for 12 noon order but I didn't mind becuase last time we bought bucket briyani the taste was good. However this time there were no spices it was blunt. My cousins who are foodies never expected from SS hyderbad. I very particularly booked kodambakkam branch but they spoiled completely to the point were relatives started mentioning to better cook at home. The most economical & tasty Biriyani I've ever had is at SS Hyderabadi Biriyani. Right from Perambur to Nungambakkam to Kodambakkam, they all have the same flavor. Primarily they have the take away option, & they types of packaging is the one that's unique. If I'm not wrong, its SS Hyderabadi Biriyani which started the Bucket Biriyani concept, where you get to buy a small or Medium sized Bucket filled with Biriyani, which can be used to serve a small or medium sized get-together. Sometimes its economical to buy the bucket Biriyani for a group than to buy individually. They also have a dine-in option & that is also a good portion of Biriyani, which sometimes can be had by 2 adults. I like their chicken 65 as well, goes well with their Biriyani, while dining you also get a small portion of a sweet along with Biriyani, which is a tradition I guess. There are many types of Biriyani's & this is one particular type, which I suppose is a welcome taste by most...
