A modest pub that aspires to be more, but is still not there. This pub is in the premium lounge area of the Chennai airport. And due to its location it does attract a crowd that is ready to pay more for the services. Perhaps the owners of the pub have taken for granted that people will pay more because of its monopoly in the airport and therefore have not cared to provide a good service.
The staff is very poorly trained and borders on being unprofessional. It is not to say that they are not friendly, but that they lack the finesse for a pub that is priced premium. Many donot know the etiquettes of hospitality. This place is certainly not well stocked. They have some popular brands of liquor and the locals do get excited about it. If one had to venture even a bit beyond the popular drinks, it is hard to find anything. The prices are quite high and the service and quality of the food doesn’t live up to such high price. The ambiance though was good and certainly bar like. However there is hardly any competiion to this place in the airport, and so I believe nothing will change. ( Atleast nothing has changed in the...
Read moreThe only star that it gets is for playing sports on their TVs. For the second time I went there, they did not have any beer on the tap. From the state of them, it appeared that those taps never dispensed any beer in since they saw the light of life. The service is extremely slow - there were exactly 4 people in the place and 6 servers, yet your food orders took forever to get to your table. The place is unavoidable if you want to get a drink before your flight as I am not sure if there's another place in Chennai airport that serves alcohol. If you are taking care of your lever, avoid this place at all costs - many other places to get better food at much decent prices. Forgot to mention - stupid place doesn't have a wireless card machine so if you want to pay by card, you will have to go to the...
Read moreIt was my first visit to Chennai and while flying back to Bombay from Chennai Airport, spent time at the Irish House. I am particularly writing this review to highly appreciate the service offered to me by Miss. AKSHAYA. She looked after my table/order and was extremely kind & polite and if I ain't wrong, was the only female waitress. The food & drink options are very good. Recommend Orange Virgin Mojito here, it's classic. Mini mezze as vegetarian option is good followed by spaghetti Italiano veg. French fries are served hot and and super tasty, ceaser salad is okay. If there's still room left in your tummy then don't miss brownie with vanilla Ice-cream. It's not the sizzling one but still very good. Again big thanks to Miss Akshaya for making the experience at Irish house Chennai Airport an...
