Visited The Kudil Restaurant, Medavakkam on 16th July around 9:30 PM with a close friend, hoping for a relaxed dinner with my friend. What followed was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve had in a long time.

Chicken Kari Dosa

Half Pepper Tandoori Chicken (as suggested by staff)

Butter Roti

Plain Dosa (later)

🔹 The Chicken Kari Dosa was overly spicy, and the dosa batter was extremely sour. My friend couldn’t even take more than a bite—it was that bad. 🔹 He then ordered a plain dosa, hoping for something simple—but shockingly, it took 20 minutes to arrive, and tasted worse than homemade dosa. No crispness, no flavor—just bland and dry. 🔹 The Pepper Tandoori Chicken was not tandoori at all. It looked like it was shallow-fried on a dosa tawa. The chicken was under-cooked, oily, and had raw blood inside. 🔹 Initially, the staff served us the wrong dish, and instead of listening, they started arguing. Only after escalation did the cashier ask them to replace it—but even the replaced dish was a disaster. 🔹 To top it off, the staff behavior was rude and careless. We genuinely felt ignored and disrespected, as if our presence didn’t matter.

🧾 Real feedback, not hate:

I’m not someone who writes negative reviews often, but this one felt necessary. We paid for a meal and ended up with hunger, frustration, and regret. The restaurant might look decent from outside, but inside—poor service, bad attitude, and worse food.

I am revisiting my comments after my experience last weekend. Had a Nonveg meal and Chicken 65. Chicken 65 is awesome. Perfectly marinated with perfect spices and cooked perfectly. I was able to feel juiceyness in the chicken

But on the other side. Nonveg meal was not at all good. Both Chicken & mutton gravy tasted same, less salt and it was too pricy for that level quality. ₹280 is not worth for the meal. I am a frequent visitor to this restaurant.

Had a disappointment this time with service and food.

Had Naatukoli rasam, Chinthamani Chicken along with Nonveg meals. Everything tasted really good. All had a perfect spices, masalas. In means, they gave fish, matton and couple of chicken gravies. Everything tasted perfect. After a long time had a good decent Nonveg meals and side dish.

Chicken Chinthamani perfectly made with the flavour, spices, taste. It had its smokiness flavour in it.

Average cost of an item is ₹200+ except very few. If anyone haven't visited worth giving a short.

They mentioned lunch starts from 11am itself. Best time to visit if you wish to avoid crowd, For lunch, 12:30-01:30pm Dinner: 7pm-8pm.(Average).

Weekend sometime Dinner will get crowded little early.
