A Delightful Experience at Vanis Creative Bakers, Tirunelveli
I recently visited Vanis Creative Bakers in Tirunelveli, and I have to say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the variety of baked goods and treats on display.
Tandoori Pastry: I started with the Tandoori Pastry, and it was an absolute game-changer! The pastry was wonderfully flaky, with a subtle spice that gave it a distinct, savory flavor. It was the perfect balance of crispy and soft. I can definitely say it’s unlike any pastry I’ve had before, and I’ll be coming back for more.
Popsicles: On a warm day, I couldn’t resist trying their popsicles. They were so refreshing! I tried the mixed fruit flavor, and it was tangy and sweet, making for the perfect treat to beat the heat. The popsicles were so well-made and didn’t feel too sugary—just the right amount of flavor.
Basque Cheesecake: The Basque Cheesecake was a true highlight. It had this rich, creamy texture, and the slightly burnt top added a wonderful depth to the flavor. It was light but decadent at the same time—definitely one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had!
Opera Cake: If you're a fan of layered desserts, the Opera Cake is a must-try. The layers of almond sponge, coffee, and rich chocolate came together beautifully. It was elegant and rich without being overwhelming—perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Korean Garlic Cheese Bun: I also tried the Korean Garlic Cheese Bun, and oh my, it was amazing! The bun was soft, light, and airy, while the garlic and cheese gave it a savory and addictive flavor. I’ve never tasted anything quite like it before, and it was definitely one of my favorites.
Hot Chocolate: After all those sweet and savory treats, I decided to try the hot chocolate. It was indulgent—rich, smooth, and full of chocolatey goodness. The drink was so comforting, and it paired perfectly with the desserts I tried.
Masala Chai: For those who prefer something spicier, the Masala Chai was the perfect choice. It was brewed to perfection, with just the right mix of spices. It was warming and aromatic, a true reflection of authentic Indian chai.
Biscoff Miniature Cake: Lastly, I couldn’t resist the Biscoff Miniature Cake. It was a little bite-sized bundle of joy, with the familiar caramelized flavor of the Biscoff biscuit. The cake was light and moist, making it the perfect little treat after my meal.
Overall, Vanis Creative Bakers is a hidden gem in Tirunelveli. The creativity and quality they put into their baked goods and drinks really shine through, and every item I tried exceeded my expectations. Whether you’re in the mood for something savory or sweet, this place has it all. I’ll definitely be returning soon to try even more of...
Read moreVery bad food quality. Puffs and other items are made with vanaspati or vegetable fats instead of butter. We have to scrap it off from our tongue after finishing a bite. I tried croissants. They are very old and texture was very hard like a cookie biscuit. While they started the bakery none of the items were below 100Rs. except macaroons (45Rs.) and bread (65Rs.). Most of the items were priced only above 300-400Rs. Now we can see half of the items are below 100Rs. range. It seems they tried to attract more customers by lowering the price range, but there is a heavy compromise on quality now. But they don't even feel guilty and tell customers that it is brand new stock, freshly made items. The staffs speak as though there is a huge customers crowd, all items are selling very fast and so they are all out of stock. I'm telling the truth not even more than 10 customers are coming to visit this bakery per day. My house is in the next street only and so I am seeing this shop everyday. Shop owner Mrs. Vani, you are lucky to get a chance to open such a big shop in a main area, while many people out there are waiting to get a small business opportunity for their survival. Please handle this opportunity with respect and truthfulness. Try to give quality items to people at lowest possible cost so that u can gain a lot of customers first. Ur shop only looks and functions like a showcase to show off who is this great Masterchef Vani. And there is no place for real food lovers in ur shop who really order a lot of tasty things at reasonable price, sit and eat back to back. Redesign ur marketing...
Read moreOrdered the cake a very special occasion (My son's first birthday) and highly disappointed.
Pros: The order taking process was very smooth. And we were able to seamlessly communicate with them The cake finish and look was good and photogenic.
Cons: We placed the order for 2Kg cake, but the cake delivered was very small. When contacted the bakery was not willing to hear our complaint. They were just particular about collecting the money from us.
The taste of the cake was very bad. The cake was fully dry and hard. The taste of the milk chocolate covering was good but overall the core of the cake was a very big let down
We were charged 4000 for the cake. Which is super expensive in my opinion. But when enquired about the cake size being small we were shocked to hear that "This what you can expect in a low budget cake"
We were given some complimentary mango cheesecakes which was almost inedible/stale.
Verdict:
Order cakes from here only if the look of the cake matter to you. And the taste does not matter. Be ready to...
