This restaurant not only impresses with its rustic and traditional ambiance but also delivers a delightful culinary experience.

Ambiance

The restaurant exudes a warm, rustic charm with its wooden interiors, terracotta-style ceiling tiles, and lattice walls. The patterned flooring and traditional artifacts, including lanterns and garlands, add a heritage-inspired touch. The cozy yellow walls and soft lighting create an inviting atmosphere, perfect for family dining or small gatherings.

Food Experience

We tried prawns fry, chicken sukkha, wade, amboli, raw banana pakoda, solkadhi, and plain rice. Here's the breakdown:

Prawns Fry: Authentic in taste and packed with flavor, though slightly on the oily side.

Chicken Sukkha: Perfectly spiced and genuinely authentic, making it a standout dish.

Wade: While decent, they could be improved—less oil and a better texture would elevate this dish.

Amboli: Absolutely heavenly! The taste and size were spot-on, making it a must-try.

Solkadhi: A refreshing accompaniment, prepared to perfection. Highly recommended.

Raw Banana Pakoda: A unique and delightful addition to the menu, crispy and flavorful.

Plain Rice: Balanced the heavier dishes well and allowed the flavors to shine.

They have a lot of vegetarian options as well, shall try them in our next visit.

Cons:

Limited Space: The dining area is relatively small, which could result in long waiting times during peak hours. This might be inconvenient for larger groups or weekend visits.

Menu Diversion: The inclusion of Chinese options on the menu feels unnecessary and detracts from the restaurant's core strength—its authentic Malvani and Konkani offerings. Sticking to these regional specialties would better align with its USP.

Final Verdict:

While the ambiance and authentic dishes like prawns fry, chicken sukkha, amboli, and solkadhi are exceptional, the small space and menu distractions slightly hinder the experience. Deducting one star for the latter, but this is still a must-visit spot for traditional coastal...

If you're craving authentic coastal cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. The ambiance is rustic and traditional, creating a cozy, homely vibe that immediately transports you to the coastal heart of Maharashtra. The friendly staff adds to the charm, and the owner personally ensures every guest is satisfied, giving the restaurant a very personal touch.

We tried a variety of dishes, and each one was a delight. The prawns fry was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of crispiness, while the prawns masala was rich and flavorful, leaving a lasting impression. The surmai fish curry was a comforting bowl of warmth, with tender fish and a well-balanced gravy.

The ghavani was a standout, a traditional dish that paired beautifully with the other offerings. The kombadi wada (chicken) was crispy and delicious, a perfect snack to start with. We also had the banana leaf surmai, a unique take on surmai fish that was both fresh and packed with flavors. And to round off the meal, the shirvale plate was an excellent choice, offering a wonderful mix of tastes.

All in all, this restaurant provides a genuine taste of coastal cuisine, made even better by its welcoming atmosphere and attentive service....

It was a worst experience and weing decision to go for lunch on Sunday at Gomantak khopat area... Waiting for 1 hr and 45 minutes, then waiting at table for more 45 minutes to get chicken thali and surmai thali ( has to be prepared In advance as per Sunday planning) The food quality WORST! No taste OR quantity when you pay HEFTY Rs 650 for that thali... in menu mentioned rate ASP, and then you are charging ANYTHING YOU LIKE for burnt and stale/ not fresh surmai... NOT AT ALL WORTH. Very PATHETIC Service and when asked for explanation about the same, very rude and vague answers!! will not visit anymore. Please AVOID GOMANT KHOPAT, if don't want to waste time and money, spoiling your...
