So I went to Irani canteen with my friend , ambience wise it was good. I asked my friend when it was opened he said seven months ago but definitely I can see some cracks on pillars and beams above me and definitely those were not a part of that theme. Also usually as I am from hospitality best selling dishes are from upselling so they will not get spoiled and usually these dishes are mentioned in cafe's and come little fast so I ordered kejriwal as it was in today's special and definitely expecting something different in my plate as I have tried kejriwal many a times the bread is usually not that hard. And bread should be little warm as I ordered kejriwal at it took more than 25 minutes even though it was mentioned on the menu that food will take 25 minutes surprisingly people who ordered after me received order on time as in before me and those order was from same.egg section also the kitchen people kept kejriwal in salamander with the same plate in which they served me because the plate was warm too and it was bent. Definitely looking for better experience next time service wise they were perfect that server came and informed us about delay ius extra it was served normal I n food but the quality served was not upto the mark also cheese was minimal in the portion served as kejriwal story was all about the cheese. I hope one day kejriwal will be served here the way Mr deviprasad kejriwal had at willingdon sports club. There are some other points as they need more staff for co-ordination people were getting confused about table numbers and order's they need someone who can holfeel person who heard about our coffee order was dd the pass to dispatch food orders on time and on right table also coffee as specifically mentioned by my. Friend to make strong and we said we are ready to pay extra charge but still coffee was served light overall very average experience and definitely looking for better option in thane for Irani food hope so owners and management Will take this review as positive feedback and work on there services delivered and we will see...

Restaurant Review: Irani Canteen

Rating: 4/5

The Irani Canteen offers a charming blend of traditional flavors and a nostalgic ambience, creating a unique spot for breakfast and tea enthusiasts. Here’s a closer look:

Food and Beverages: The Irani Canteen specializes in classic breakfast options and a variety of teas. The food is well-prepared, with a focus on traditional Irani fare that includes items like bun maska, kheema pav, and mutton samosas. Their tea, particularly the Irani chai, is a standout. However, the prices are noticeably on the higher side for a canteen-style establishment, which might surprise some patrons expecting more budget-friendly options.

Ambience: The ambience at the Irani Canteen is one of its strongest points. It captures the essence of old-world Irani cafes with a modern twist, providing a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The decor features vintage touches and comfortable seating, making it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast or tea break.

Service: Service is efficient and courteous, enhancing the overall dining experience. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that orders are promptly taken and served.

Overall Experience: The Irani Canteen is a delightful place for those who appreciate good food in a nostalgic setting. While the prices might be higher than expected, the quality of the ambience and the taste of the offerings make it a worthwhile visit. Perfect for those who are willing to pay a bit more for a special touch of...

I have lived my whole life eating goodies from the Irani cafes in South Mumbai till I moved to Thane post marriage. Be it B. merwans, Persian, Yazdani, Kyani's, Jimmy boy etc. they all have always served the most amazing delicacies. The Irani Canteen has interiors pretty much that resemble the authentic ones from SoBo. We tried the Irani Chai with Brun Maska, the Brun was exactly like the ones i have been eating all my life until I moved to thane. On the other hand the chai was not at all irani, it was bitter, maybe from brewing multiple times. We then saw their menu but nothing with salli could we find. We then asked the waiter if he could get us mutton keema with salli which he first forgot about along with the Pav. We waited nearly 10 mins to just get the pav and till then the keema was cold. The taste of which was way too salty and the amount of salli was not soo much, you can see the pictures. Tried the Irani omelette with Pav which tasted just like the regular omelette you make at home, nothing fancy or irani about it i could find. We also had the chicken puff which was oily and undercooked. The filling was full of garam masala and the pastry was thick and under cooked at the bottom flaky on the top. The service here is too slow. To get basic things like water, you have to tell the waiter and wait for 15-20 mins. Overall, wasn't a good experience for me. I would rather travel 1 hour to town for some salli keema which wont disappoint me.

The most horrible cheese omlette I have ever had. Its like they make the omlette and then grate the cheese on top of it and fold it like a dosa. If this is how Irani cheese omlette is made then I'd rather prefer the other normal ways of having cheese omlettes. My friend ordered a veg cutlet, it was like a kachori with the stuffing falling out. Another friend ordered a chicken cheese salami sandwich.. he left it half... it was just one piece of salami and cheese just sprinkled on top and inside... the cheese inside kept falling out . Chicken samosa was okayish. Chicken farcha was also just about ok..it was a fried chicken so how can that go wrong but if I had to eat fried chicken then KFC is much better. The next friend ordered a mutton masala keema which had more of masala only and hardly any meat in it. The only flavour it had was spicy. Service is slower than a tortoise. Takes more than 45 minutes to get your food. So if you go with friends or family, be ready to eat in a queue.. one dish will come and everyone will keep looking at that person eat and then much later another dish will come ,by which time the earlier dish will be over and the person who ate will now keep looking at the other person eat. I would never go here... got tricked by some influencer on insta reels and came here..
