I have been dining regularly at meridian whenever I would come to India with family. But this time I had an awful experience. I came in with 15 people for a dinner and this is what happened. Firstly, this restaurant needs to remember, in India food is normally tastier on the streets than on these restaurants but people choose to come for two reasons, one is a safe place where there are no health concerns and second is an experience and ambience. The reasons I preferred every time is the ambience and service. Firstly there was a waiter who was allocated to us (a thin half old guy) who would not listen to us. He would ask us to move our chairs consistently and sit in an uncomfortable manner, though he has lot of space to move around. He looked like he had no intention to work, he would bring food and drop it on the table without knowing what it is , we had ordered multiple fried rices and one was seafood fried rice and I am allergic to prawns and he dropped that to me without knowing what is. He started fighting with a student when he was serving and both ended up dropping a soup. Secondly, everything which was served was below par in taste and was served cold. The reason given was kitchen is too far now. First we ordered 6 starters they came one at a time for 15 people. Though it came one at a time they all came cold and chicken logo pogo had spoiled chicken. I spoke to the person who gets my order that people come here for experience. You cannot serve us one food at a time like sarvana Bhavan and expect us to have a good experience. He said they cannot do it as temperature will be cold for which I said it s the responsibility of the kitchen to make sure everything gets cooked at the same time and anyway as everything comes to us is cold I said I want everything at once. Thirdly, there was no one to get orders or give us things when we need it was excessive wait. Then there was shortage of everything like no mutton, no sizzlers, no steaks, only fried rice, naan and few curries (what s the use then). Lots more of this badly accumulated experience. Will never come here. And I hope everyone avoids this wrecked place until they do some...
